If Japan wins, with the game being shown in prime time on Fox at 6 pm on Sunday on a holiday weekend, one has to ask if there is there a chance that the 40MM+ viewers record for the 1999 final gets eclipsed (I know there are recent articles claiming only 17 million, but the contemporaneous accounts in 1999 put the number at 40 million, and I accord a contemporaneous account more evidentiary value).
