Agree on both counts. Quite an open match with both sides having chances and being saved through a combination of last ditch tackles, poor finishing and VAR.
Willian, man. We're getting the full Willian experience in this one. Really lacking the final product on most occasions, but I'll be damned is he isn't all over the place on the right. Also created our best scoring chance (which Tammy squandered by taking several touches too many) with some great defensive work. When we have other attacking players who are making it happen, having Willian in the team is a great luxury. When we really rely on him to create chances and goals, this is what we get
Jorginho is having another excellent game. Mount is pressing very well. Not sure why CHO is trying to shoot from every possible (bad) angle. I think we can also now put the “Azpilicueta is the defensive problem” argument to rest.
The VAR replay shown on sky Italia did show a toe and a half offside. Silly rule, but it was technically correct.
He’s been consistently unsuited to our style of play this year, not a surprise. Though we’ve not been bad defensively. We’re struggling a bit to connect attack and defense.
Wow, great 1st half. That had to be one of the closest offsides calls I've seen and that's what VAR is for.
Tammy hasn't been successful at beating his man but is still trying. I suppose you can say he only has to beat the last man once or twice a game, but, MAN, is it frustrating to watch. COYB
We concede a chance off a set piece, again. Our youth at play there I expect. Bad Jorginho attempt at a tackle led to that.
Have to say, quality in the attacking end has been mostly poor for both sides tonight. Both sets of players rushing things, it seems.
