Nice to be playing in the proper cup again. Shame about not having Eden when we’re facing Coquelin.....

Am quite surprised not to see him start.

We play Liverpool late on Sunday. This is a Tuesday game at home, if he can't handle that workload, we have real problems. This is as spaced out as it gets. I would agree more if we had a Wednesday-Saturday pair of games but we have 2 extra days on that here. Plenty of recovery time for a young player in a groove.

I was hoping he would start. I'm guessing the formation is partly responsible but he isn't someone who exclusively plays on the wing and could easily play in either of the spots behind Tammy.

I would honestly spot Mount some minutes tonight and let someone with Euro experience take the start.

Cue Barkley substitute after 60 minutes......

    Agreed.

Good point.. they may even flourish on nights like these with the (imagined) extra space

I think given where Pulisic plays for the US, this formation would suit him quite well, so am surprised by this.

Without Rudiger, Kante and Emerson we have gone a little cautious. Maybe send on Pulisic for Zouma once . . . once. . .Send on Pulisic for Zouma after 5 mins? :)

Hazard is with ZZ at Real Madrid. Shame he is going to miss out on being part of this exciting young team, but what you going to do eh? Seems like it is not going so well for Zidanne and the Spanish media are already lining up Jose as his replacement. Jose and Eden reunited in the near future maybe?

That really sucks for Mount, but uh.....why are we bringing on Pedro for him? That's weird.

Willian justifying his selection so far. Pedro has looked really rusty.

Pedro has been terrible since he came on. Still needs to get match fit.

Hopefully the second half will see us running at them more (effective) rather than pass it through them (useless so far).

Yes, and also the wrong role for him. Really odd sub. He struggles most in a relatively free role.
