For what its worth, our CL haul so far in terms of prize money is 24 million euros. (12m for reaching group stage, 1.5m for each win, 500K for each draw, 5.5m for advancing).

The money for advancing to Europa knockout stages is only 500k euros.

So, there's that. In terms of prize money, we've actually earned about as much as the eventual Europa winners will (who will earn 6m euros) just by advancing to the CL knockouts.

Great win and probably should have been 4-0 if Costa was on form. Giving him credit for the much better link up play.

Unfortunately like Wrath mentioned, teams in the epl wont attack us the way Porto did. The next match is going to be huge as it can be a statement game. If we are to truely change our form around, it starts with beating the league leaders.

Thats not including CL tv money. If im not mistaken when we won the Europa, we made more money then the CL winners.

Please correct me if im wrong.

Really? How is that possible if Europa winners only get 6m + TV money? CL winners get 32m or so + TV money. No?

Even our "good" selves (lol) in the knockout stages last season couldn't beat a 10 man PSG team.

Apparently José said he didn't want 'lightweights' in midfield as his explanation for why Cesc didn't play. Finally, he gets it.

    Guarentee Fab starts against Leicester.

I thought Ramires and Matic did just ok in the midfield. I've said it before, but we seem to have wound up with the one Brazilian (in Ramires) without any ounce of skill or flair in his play. He's his own vaudeville routine.

I thought Mikel was excellent when he came on. Shame/puzzled as to why he's not playing more.

Also, big credit to the crowd last night. They were into it all night long. Sounded great.

Matic was fantastic yesterday. Maybe with the knowledge that he doesn't have to cover for a liability next to him.

    Ok I was off....

The money in this article doesnt include our Europa pay out...only CL. Think we earned around 43 for winning Europa.

Note Juve made 10m more then Bayern who won that year.

Tried to find this in a post-match report, but did Porto field an odd lineup last night? Something out of their norm? I think the commentators mentioned it.

Not sure if there's anything to it but Pato was at the game last night.

Own Goal had a good showing for us, too.

I'm not too keen on Pato. Not sure what he can really provide and he's been so up and down his whole career. 26 years old but seems like he's been around forever. Injuries have killed him. A solid third choice maybe??

Also, it seems like Spurs are interested most in Pato...

Let's hope we get Gent next round or we're doomed.

from what i've read, he's back to scoring goals in brazil now. he's never going to be what he was for milan those first couple seasons, but i think he'll be out of contract in january. he can't be worse than falcao.

What a crock of shit. I knew some ass wipe was going to make something out of nothing. I saw the entire thing...hazard got his ovation and when Jose tried to give him a cheek grab hazard caught his hand.

Personally I hate when someone touches or tries to touch my face/head. Maybe he doesnt like it either. High five is enough
