Ok I read the other thread and I did a google, and i think I am missing something. Can someone explain to my non-RSL connected dumbness what "Got Chalk?" means? fell free to call me clueless of a moron cause in this case I clearly am.
I'm sure someone will find the news article on this... A state senator from Provo blew up any chance of ReAL having their stadium in SLC by pushing through a bill which kept any RDA funds from going to a recreational facility. The night after the bill passed, his house was "vandalized" by soccer hooligans with chalk. Of course, everything was blown out of proportion and Sen. Bramble had it cleaned up before anyone saw the alleged vandalism, and all responsible ReAL fans have disavowed knowledge of said chalking...but it lives on in ReAL lore. Hence..."Got Chalk?"
Only a crack pot politician could say with a straight face that the incident worried them and yet not bother to report it to police. Good to see the questions coming in on Got Chalk? !
Ah right. That I recall. Thank you. I didn't relize the chalk part. I guess I assumed toilet paper/eggs/flower/etc... Perfect forum tag then. well done.
That explains it. Wonder why the guy would be worried about chalk? It cleans easily and is friendly to the environment.
Yes, I remember that thread pretty clearly, too.... ha ha... There's a little more to innocent, sweet little Utahns than some people think.
To me, that's why it's so funny and disturbing. Instead of calling the cops, he called the media. He was so dramatic about the incident and the safety of his family that you would've though a cross had been burned on his lawn. Once you found out it was just sidewalk chalk and an inflatable soccer ball all you could do was shake your head...
Hey RSL supporters...great choice for a tagline. Congratulations. It's got humor, requires some knowledge of RSL's beginnings, and has a bit of an edge to it as a warning to all who would think RSL to be a pushover.
At the new stadium we must memorialise the deed: Reproduce the chalking in concrete pigments some where on the site. Were there any pictures or remembrances so it can be duplicated?
