By the way, this happened. It looks like there was a rumor that he signed with Chivas, but actually ended up with their affiliate Coras de Tepic. http://www.mediotiempo.com/futbol/m.../cesar-romero-no-jugara-en-chivas-ira-a-tepic http://www.corasfc.com.mx/noticia.php?id=214&m=2 I think we can keep the title ... No Joking: Cesar Romero at Coras de Tepic @bungadiri @Friedel'sAccent
Summary of Romero's time at Vardar: 8 games in League (5 starts, 469 minutes): 4 goals and 2 red cards 1 game in the Cup (1 start, 44 minutes): 0 goals and 1 yellow card Vardar ended the first half of the season (18 games) in first place, but have another 18 games to go.
Snip: Vesmadian, the CEO of Bucket Group, also formerly represented Cesar Romero. The key word being formerly since Bucket Group cut ties with Romero due to personal issues with the Mexican-American striker. Vardar actually released Romero since he committed numerous discipline violations. Cesar is looking to resume his career in Mexico now that he is a free agent. http://www.macedonianfootball.com/i...-with-armenian-duo&catid=1:domestic&Itemid=63
Did Romero play for Murcielagos when they were in Liga Ascenso? If so, he's back full circle. Also, Mauro Camaronesi is their manager.
Too late to edit, but I have no idea where I got Camoranesi from. He's not their manager (damn you Wikipedia). Also, I can't really confirm that Romero is with the team, as their site is down. He was not in the squad for their 6-0 win over Murcielagos (according to Soccerway at least). What's a good source for statistics/lineups in Mexico?
Soccerway covers the top two divisions pretty thoroughly. The LigaMX site isn't the easiest to navigate, but it shows stats for players at all levels.
Romero finally saw some game time for Coras. He started and played the full game against Cimarrones in a 2-3 loss. He got a yellow card in the 91st minute. http://us.soccerway.com/matches/201...c/cimarrones-de-sonora/2177239/?ICID=PL_MS_05
He still hasn't scored in the league but he did score the game-winner against his former team Murcielagos in the Copa MX. http://us.soccerway.com/matches/2016/03/09/mexico/copa-mexico/coras-de-tepic/murcielagos-fc/2178555/
He's played in 6 games in the league (2 starts, 4 as a sub) for 289 minutes. Still 0 goals and 2 yellow cards. Also 5 appearances in the cup (3 starts, 2 subs) for 272 minute. 1 goal and 3 yellow cards. The one goal was a game-winner. But Coras de Tepic lost to Atletico San Luis in the quarterfinals on PKs. ROmero started but was subbed out before PKs.
He doesn't appear to be with any club in Mexico at this point. Unregistered players are still popping up with Segunda Division clubs in the Liga MX database, but if he were with an Ascenso club, we'd know by now.
He can't hide for too long: Cesar Romero joined Mosta FC in Malta. Cesar has spent a lot of his career in Eastern Europe, after a year at Chivas USA, the Chula Vista native, Cesar headed to Pyunik in Armenia then Vardar in Macedonia. http://ussocceracrossthepond.blogsp...rs-winter-transfer-window-opens.html?spref=tw
He's building up a great journeyman's record. A short stint at Chivas USA (a must for all journeymen), leading scorer in Armenia, Macedonia, Mexico, now Malta. Will John is still the journeyman GOAT in my opinion. Hard to beat playing on four continents.
According to Transfermarkt, he's been in with Mosta FC in Malta Premier League since January 2017. Only played 5 matches (no goals) back in March, but didn't make the squad after that. Cesar Romero signed with Alashkert Yerevan in Armenia and came off the bench in the 55th minute of their 3-0 Champions League loss to Celtic today.
He made a 4 minute substitute appearance as Alashkert lost the road leg 3-0 and lost the Champions League first qualifying round tie against Celtic 6-0 on aggregate. Alashkert next face FK Sujetska of Montenegro in the second qualifying round of the Europa League starting this Thursday. @TheFalseNine @bungadiri No Joking: Cesar Romero at Alashkert Yerevan
On the bench, did not play as Alashkert draw 0-0 to advance to the Third Qualifying Round of the Europa League, where they will play Romania's CFR Cluj.
