I, as did many others here, wanted Sarri to stay at least another year with more quality at his disposal, but ADL made sure it wasn't meant to be. Thing is, he implemented his system and had the players to play it, so did we see the peak of what he could do working under ADL? We'll never know I guess. Now with Ancelotti, I truly doubt the current tactics is what he really wants to implement. He wanted James for a reason. I have a feeling he will leave due to ADL.
Who sold Jorginho and said he was not needed and Fabian will make us stronger. Who sold Rog and Diawara? Who said we don't need more than 4 midfielders because he wanted to play 4-2-3-1? There is no doubt Napoli has a better squad than 2 years ago. How did |I defend the CL? I said it was unacceptable. But League is much more important than CL and it shows in attendance numbers. If we are out of the title race by the end of the months, nothing will raise enthusiasm, definitely not a CL quarter final.
No one has defended Sarri. Ancelotti has done a very poor job and we are just comparing performances and results. Ancelotti had the season over in 2018 last year (we were out of the league and CL). Quality of games were poor. Not sure what has improved this year, games are very poor and gap to Juve is already 6 points after 7 games. We will likely make it out of CL group stages, but that alone will not make it a good season.
We all agree that ADL is the main culprit. But Ancelotti needs to take responsibility. He is a world renowned coach and after over a season he still has no idea of how Napoli should be set up. We have no clear tactic, players don't have clear roles, there is no clear formation. Several players have said they are confused and don't know where to play. To just put it on not getting James is ridiculous and remember Ancelotti said this market was a 10. Just saying we will win the title does not make you a top coach. He said it about the EL last year as well. We were not even close.
Inter and Juve both scrapping wins, our defeat against Cagliari and draw to Torino has cost us big time
PL 7 wins, 0 draws, 0 losses Serie A 3 wins, 1 draw, 2 losses Roma clubs are so bad. The quality of the league is just not improving.
If we fail to see this as an unexpected opportunity and do not put our hearts and souls into the game I will be angry. I think we had not yet lost hope, but few were expecting the chance to make the gap narrower would come so soon.
They just beat Dortmund. This is the first league game they dropped points as losing to Juve was expected.
If they are serious title contenders a loss at home to another contender shouldn't be expected or accepted.
