All Catania fans will be hoping to avoid a disaster like in the 1983-84 season. This year's Lecce? Possibly. I'm going to say that they're going to be similar to Pescara 1992-93 though.

Re: Catania thread 2006-2007 (R) The thing about Catania is their roster has few players with experience in Serie A. Also, I'm not sure about the strikeforce, they have Corona who has been with Crotone in B, Mascara, Del Core, and an 18 year old Japanese player named Takauki Morimoto.

Noone gave them a chance and because they had very few if any players that played in Serie A many thought that they would be relagated once the season came to a end. As we know a new team to the division needs exposure there are probably 80% of people who follow serie A who never heard/seen the club perform. I believe once the team starts playing well and many fans start to respect the club as a team more people will be buying tickets for thier games and buying Catania merchandise which will allow the team to have more revenue and be able to purchase more wanted quality players.
Re: Catania thread 2006-2007 (R) Expect Gionatha Spinesi to have a good season, Mattia Biso is another good player. They have a few decent players like Del Core, and Mascara. GianPaolo can you tell us a bit more about the team. I know a bit about them last season, but who do think are going to play well. I also saw your reasoning with exposure, however Palermo were given a chance to stay up, because they've got the $$$. I don't think there will be much to made off merchandising. Really the ability to purchases decent players is how rich your president is. But you never know everyone thought Ascoli were a certain relegation team. In saying that Ascoli have more of a history in Serie A, than most teams.

My wifes family is from Catania and now we have a little battle going in my home over which team will do better. Anyways, congrats to Catania, i hope they do well against everybody except Messina!!!!! Impressed they went into Cagliari and pulled out 3 points...tough place to win
