That original line up was from the charts shown on the Digicel site and was drawn up from qualifying positions in the group stages.. On one of the news reports on the site it said that the teams will know their opponents when the draw is made which I thought was odd as the chart was and I think still is showing how the groups were to be determined.. But as we know now a draw was made and the 2nd set of groups are infact the correct ones...
Second Round: Group I 11/08/06 18:00 Haiti - Cuba 11/08/06 20:00 Martinique - Suriname 11/10/06 18:00 Cuba - Suriname 11/10/06 20:00 Martinique - Haiti 11/12/06 16:00 Suriname - Haiti 11/12/06 18:00 Martinique - Cuba
Martinique, Haiti, and cuba will eventually advance to the final round. Onn of the three will finish third and win the group of third-place finishers. So, one of the three teams will get to TnT by the back door
Re: Carribean Digicel Cup in September 2006! Does anybody know anything about this st And you thought group D was bad But all considerations about group difficulty aside, why the hell is everyone just letting everything the arbitrary mafia in the CFU slide. this is the second time in 3 months that they've changed the format of a competition without due notice. I don't buy into the conspiracy theories, but this is just poor administration anyway you look at it, and needs to be stopped

With the top two teams in the Group guaranteed to progress to the finals tournament in Trinidad in January 2007, Cuba and Haiti look like the favourites to progress from the section. The two teams will be no strangers to each other have recently met in a pair of Digicel International Friendlies, the first match in Port-au-Prince on October 17th followed by a rematch in Cap Haitien on October 19th. The matches may have been short of goals, a scoreless draw in the capital and a 1-0 win for the visitors in Cap Haitien, but they were not short of drama with Haiti missing a penalty in the closing minutes of the final game. The Cuban side posed with the Digicel Caribbean Cup trophy after the match and will be hoping a repeat victory over Haiti in the Group’s opening game will see them on the road to the finals in Trinidad and a chance to win the title for the first time.
Some bad news for the Haitian Senior National team. Pierre will not be with the team, he will stay with Nantes french 1st division As usual, the Federation has money problems and do not have the money to pay for Mayard's ticket from Norway ( 4000$ US) ,he is still in stand by. Captain, Bruny is a little bit injured , he traveled with the team but hasn't trained in a couple of days. Fabrice Noel wants to go to Martinique as Colorado Rapids are eliminated but he doesn't have a french visa yet. Even if he gets the visa on time, he may not play the first game. The federation sent a ticket to Turlien Romulus but his University seems to not want to release him. No Marc Herold Gracien. No other oversea players. Stephane Guillaume & Jamil Jean-Jacques are already with the team, Eliphene Cadet also. They leave for Martinique this afternoon.
A friendly match on Oct 22 : Martinique- St Vincent & the Grenadines 1-1 . Martinique also played a friendly on Nov 3 against Guadeloupe, result missing.
Captain Bruny Pierre Richard playing or not is what i'm worried about. Gracien didn't really wow fans in the first round, his only goal was in stoppage time during Haiti's 4-0 win over vincy heat. As long as Haiti still have their Miami FC players, Cadet, and most of the other Haitian league players then i still like their chances.
St.Vincent and Antigua got into shape by playing in the Independence Cup over the last few days on St.Vincent RESULTS 1st November - Saint Vincent & the Grenadines 4-1 Grenada 3rd November - Antigua & Barbuda 1-1 Grenada 5th November - Saint Vincent & the Grenadines 2-2 Antigua & Barbuda Saint Vincent & the Grenadines win Independence Cup

I see that Cuba has beaten the great Haitian national team. Care to share your thoughts as to why Haiti lost? btw, did you also notice that a Jamaican referee was in charge of the match?
