While we're huge Vela fans, it truly is hard as heck to follow him in the MLS. @Milk! There are just too many rules for me. It's not... "organic?" Is that the word we're using now to describe authenticity? I see and hear it everywhere. And while I usually avoid buzz shit, it pretty much sums up how I feel at the Banc of California. Almost everything about the experience seems artificial... The eagle, all the borrowed chants, the U.S. flag and the propaganda around the anthem, all the rainbow flags and scarves, THE SCARVES in general, the "casual" look, the "skinhead" look and the way we can throw beer but not chant pu.to or cule.ro. I'm not even trying to be a little kid about the whole ordeal, but it just seems so... contrived.
none of the strikers scored nice goals like they did in their league for mexico. at least vela had a good showing while playing for the MLS

Vela was a beast in Russia despite Osorio not using him properly. I have no issues with him continuing to get call ups. If it is Tata I'm sure he will call him since he knows MLS.
MLS - October 21: Carlos Vela played the whole game and had an assist in a 2–2 draw with Vancouver Whitecaps.
I think he also got a hockey assist on the second goal. First Vela to Kovar, then Kovar to Rossi, and Rossi slots it in.
The eagle? I think you mean the falcon that flies before the match. I think it's corny. I think the big LAFC letters on the field that shoot out flames are corny. SCARVES, in general, have always been *super* corny to me but that's more of an MLS thing than an L.A. thing. Anyway, scarves make little sense to me in a city where it's sunny and warm like 90 percent of the time. The p*** chant is a weird hill to die on but if that's your thing, OK. Whether you think it's offensive or not, to me it feels played out. It makes me cringe when people do it. I have zero desire to be in the 3252, but if that's what people are into, good for them I guess? I mostly shut up, sit down and watch the game. Despite all this, the atmosphere during matches is fun and the team is usually entertaining. I think that's what has created the buzz and that's always going to bring out people who just want to see what the latest 'cool' thing is. I could care less. I'm not there to be part of some 'scene.' Just there to watch some fútbol. And so far I've gotten my money's worth.
