Cardiff are crap (obviously) so I have no concerns about beating them .... but I'd prefer if they'd been relegated by now. they still have a tiny piece of hope left, so this could - potentially - be a banana skin if they decide they do have something to play for. so just score early, kill heir hope, take the crowd out then manage the game through. OR go at them like bastards, rip them apart, win 8-0 to remove the GD issue !
https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spo.../dejan-lovren-returns-liverpool-boss-16154390 Lovren, Gomez and Ox (!) could take part?
remarkable to think we've done so well this season having 2 such influential players (Ox and Joe) missing for virtually the whole thing.
If we hadn't signed Fabinho Ox would have been a big miss... He'll be like a new midfield signing next year, with Milner probably gone...
Might as well put this here. Purloined (though not too shamelessly) from FB. 2 of the top 6 are in the CL semi-finals. Another 2 of the top 6 are in the Europa semi-finals. The other 2 are in Manchester.
It is a potential banana skin game but this team is very mentally tough and I don't see them having issues with any of the remaining fixtures. Be professional, be smart, get the job done. Put all eyes on Citeh.
These Sunday matches...grrrr....I'll have to miss this one and watch the replay. Just get it over in the first half please. Score three or four and then spend the second half playing keep ball.
I don;t think Liverpool will surpass ManCity;s goal differential, but given the fact that the opponents are relatively weak a big dent could be accomplished in the next couple of matches, so a 6-0 result would be a good thing, especially after the Spurs score today.
Warnock has been playing up Liverpool’s attacking prowess but remember Cardiff could do what a number of teams have done against Liverpool this season—grimly hold on for a draw. I have just seen a toothless Brighton survive a Wolves onslaught today by basically refusing to venture more than 30 yards beyond its box.
But that go for City too Sir SamScouse, or any team, regarding have a bad mistake or crap ref. City might have a bad ref against United. Brighton play City last, Brighton could also survive a City onslaught and get a draw against them. I still think City will get a draw. Today they look tired and nervous, all of them, beside Bernardo S. and their GK. If they don't sort this nervous and feeling pressure out, I can see them draw somewhere in their remaining 4 games. I don't think United can get a win out of City. But I can see Leicaster (who has burn them in Dec). And this Brighton team who play quite physical, they racking up fouls and yellow cards and red cards everywhere, lol. I gave up on United, but I still have hope in Leicaster can pull something. I still believe Liverpool can do it. All the best luck tomorrow. Believe.
Why does everyone assume Milner is leaving? He definitely has the mental capacity to recognize that playing a bit-part role here is better than playing every match for some mid-table cloggers.
After watching the Maggies/Saints match today, I'm a little concerned about Rafa's team. He obviously would have a powerful incentive to get a result, and the match is at SJP.
But people says that Rafa (whom is an ex-coach of Liverpool), and adoreee Liverpool. So he wouldn't mind just lost the game so Liverpool can have it easier to win the league. Right? No?
But I remember the last match that City lost was to NewCastle 2-1 (City lost by a penalty), and that lost Jan 29 was the last match in the league that City lost. Since then they unbeaten 10 games in a row. I remember that match Rafa said he adore Liverpool and will do whatever his side can to beat City so Liverpool remain up in the table. Like in the news, quoted, Rafa said that, his own words, he will help Liverpool. So... he willing to help beat City so Liverpool can continue the lead, but then when it come to his "own team" against Liverpool, he will try to beat Liverpool? aaaa confusing. I still think Liverpool has more than enough to beat New Castle. Liverpool should beat Cardiff with ease too. Not worry about their last 4 runs. The only one I worry a bit is Barca. I see Liverpool as a better side by a quite margin, like Barca would need Xavi and Iniesta come back from retire in order to deal effectively with Liverpool pressing. It just it an 2 legs affair, and add Messi. But the ELP, Liverpool is doing great. City is shaky now (as you can see yesterday game), City keep that shaky form and they will draw in one of their next 4 games, no doubt about that. And Liverpool can capitalize.
I can't see any team in the prem tanking a game to benifit another team. Especially a hated neighbour. Too many people involved and it goes against everything an individual or a team has worked for. Exept perhaps Manure.
