Lets assume France will reach the final, then I think those three stadiums would perfectly fit the needs of the semis and the final. Yes, I am maybe overestimating the love for le football feminin... still I think the other European powers, the US for sure and Europe's Japanese fanbase are going to turn out in big numbers. Ill kill myself if Germany has to play the US in 20k arena.

The file says medium capacity stadium between 20k and 35k. It suits the target to fill up all the grounds during the tournament.

One of the target is break even financially hence maybe not using the Stade Velodrome and Stade de France. It is well known that the Stade de france rent paid by the FFF is a ransom.

Disappointed they're not gonna use Bordeaux's new stadium, but I guess it's gonna be too big having a capacity of 43,000.

I think at this point it's either France or South Korea. I don't think FIFA would except any late bids unless both withdraw.

Now that England can sell 55.000 for a meaningleass friendly wouldnt you agree that France offering stadium capacities around 20k comes across as "rather underwhelming"?

Well I agree the big games with big teams USA, France, Germany may probably leave people at the door in 2019 that is if expected growth happen, but out of the 64 games I am sure the huge majority will not sell out and are correctly dimensioned.

Obviously if there is an exponential growth in attendance in the next 5 years, I am sure the FFF will use bigger ground after all. But the current league and NT figure really do not show anything special at the moment.

Can you change the stadiums in your bid after the bid has been finalized?

Its been reported that Qatar changed their plans to build 12 stadiums to now only building 8...yet its Qatar. I'm not sure the Qatar situation gives any real evidence for what FIFA's regulations are on changing the plans presented in a bid.

I wonder if they'll officially announce Sweden as the host of the 2016 U-20 WWC. Plus, there's also the 2018 U-17 WWC, too.

Beside your link, in the pre-match for the UCL Barca v. Man City match they also indicated that the announcement is tomorrow and that France seems to have an edge. I hope their sources are good ones. ;>)

I'm expecting France to win the hosting rights. They might as well name Japan the host of the 2023 WWC while they're at it.

According to people who worked hard preparing our bid, they are quite worried, we won't win it.

    1991 - Asia
    1995 - Europe
    1999 - North America
    2003 (SARS Emergency hosting)
    2007 - Asia
    2011 - Europe
    2015 - North America

Yes, the pattern works against them. The rotation would put them in 2023. You would think they need to knock it out of the park to break the cycle. There is also the possibility of South America or Africa in 2023 as well.

    FIFAs rotation patterns are crap.

Wahl is usually good about reporting things like that. He's not a sensationalist. So I'm more inclined to believe what he says as opposed to others.

Really? It would surprise me if they think S.Korea has the advantage here - France has way more marketing potential right now with how well the WNT is doing, and both Japan and Australia are already aiming for 2023, both of which would be stronger bids than S.Korea has now - heck, they're the only two who've publicly stated interest in 2023 as of yet, so I would be shocked if FIFA wants to risk backing themselves into two Asian WWCs in a row.

I have heard for mutiple French sources that it was not looking really good for us and Korea were favourites.

Really? Huh... well that just makes no sense, then. =-S France has all the demographic advantages, too, on top of the other things I mentioned earlier. The only things I could think of that would make S.Korea favourites would be if France really just didn't try that hard with their bid, or S.Korea has sunk to the Russia/Qatar levels...

I think our bid is solid but what is written in the press is the Korean one is extremely solid as well.
They have organised the WC2002 the U17 2007 WC and will do the U17 and U20 men's tournament soon.
So their relationship with FIFA is quite strong.
