Whether we get more spots will depend largely on how well the CPL teams perform. Beating Antigua is a first step but isn't going to do it. For Canada to get more spots, we need the CPL teams to repeatedly push really deep in the CL. That, and continued good performance by our CCL slot, will earn us more spots.

Larson is well informed on Canadian soccer but he also works directly for the CPL. I'm sure he'll predict all sorts of good things happening for the CPL "eventually". :)

And more teams, didn't make sense to give more berth for such a small sample of teams. Growing the league is key. Performance wise, looks like they are on the right path...it will only get better from here.

Yeah but he's still a massive MLS & TFC fans and keep tweeting about it. He used to troll CPL so he's as credible as an insider you can hope to get

They are also officially regulated by the (English) FA instead of the (Welsh) FAW since 2011, though that is due to issues regarding the FA wanting to be able to impose its rules on all clubs in its leagues rather than being related to UEFA competition.

The Welsh clubs play in the English cup competitions - and have qualified for European play that way. They can also qualify for Europe in league play, like the English clubs.

Given the Canadian MLS teams have been been the most successful non-Mexican squad (with the CAN1 slot, currently number 4 in the CONCACAF Club Index behind only MEX1, MEX2, and MEX3) and have very good attendance, I don't see CONCACAF moving to change that.

^ Do we have any idea what the salary cap is now? I've heard various rumours but I've never seen anything official.

They are keeping it quiet but I think it's around $1M, some less some around that. You have to think that Valour is right up there with Paolucci, Galan and Petrasso. Heard Halifax are spending against the cap too, Perea isn't cheap with his resume

I rode by their stadium last week, definitely nice location. Also throughout downtown their were signs about the Wanderers.
