They did but from whatvwqs reported by Montreal media, Auxerres is asking a crazy amount of money for his transfer. They were partly responsible for the deal with Celtic to fall through and Montreal wasn't willing to meet the asking price, even for a loan. Some context however, paying a steep price for a player's potential who has yet to play pro minutes is asking a lot. However, seems like Pacific are willing to pay for him. I would tend to think that this is a loan

Since the NHL playoffs Western Conference Saturday game is a matinee, after the 8pm Boston-Carolina game ends, CBC listings now list the timeslot for all affiliates across Canada a replay of the Forge v York9 game. So that means right after the hockey coverage ends the next program is the CPL. Canadians get a second chance to see it! But please no NHL double-overtime. Hopefully some hockey fans at bars (some establishments don't change their channels) will be exposed to the CPL!

I'm trying to sign up for OneSoccer from the U.S. They don't list the United States as a country to create an account from. Has anyone else ran into this problem?
✍🏻 Signing | York9 FC (@York9FC) have signed Chilean striker Rodrigo Gattas (@GattasRodrigo). The 27 year old recently played with Rangers (@Rangersdetalca_) in Chile.#CPLtransfers | #CanPL pic.twitter.com/Zfx8nREw5R— CANSOCCER (@cansoccerfeed) April 27, 2019

How is Kyle Bekker captain of Forge? He is a 1/10 today, not to mention he should have a red card. 1-1 now. Thomas equalizes for Forge. Forge has controlled things today.
David Clanachan to reporters at halftime. #canPL “I’m seeing tough, hard-fought, let ‘em play [brand of soccer]. No diving, no rolling around, no embellishment, none of that stuff. This is the kind of game this country wants, and I think Canadians will respect that."— John Molinaro (@JohnMolinaro) April 27, 2019
Forge have absolutely bossed this game outside of the first 5 minutes. If they replace Kyle Bekker and tell Chris Nanco he's allowed to use his left foot, look out CPL. Dave Gantar not really calling fouls out there....
So far in social media, despite the wind, thenlevel of play has exceeded most analysts expectations. I was very entertained by this game and like the level who has nowhere to go but up.
The level is going to be fine. The league has good coaches, the Canadians can play. Some people maybe were expecting kick and run with no skill, that's just ignorance of Canada. Looking forward to Pacific vs Wanderers tomorrow.
That game will be very interesting. We know that Halifax has a defensive approach vs Pacific all out offensively Haven't been excited like this in a long time

Thanks for posting the attendance and highlight links. I have one (probably dumb) question: what's the significance of the "9" in York9's name?
There are nine cities/towns that make up York Region. As for the game, that was a fun one. Hamilton deserved a win in front of their home town fans but it doesn't always work out that way. Still, an entertaining start for the league.
York played 3-5-2 yesterday which didn't seem to work well with the players they had. They seemed to have decided to drop deep and play negative football after scoring which played right into Forge's hands. They played Aparicio as an AM and Telfer as a LM, both of whom have skill sets which lie in attack not defence. At the same time, Forge obviously were going to play aggressively at home. Not only did they play a very high line, they had their keeper set up mere steps below the centre circle when they had the ball in York's final third. The problem with York yesterday wasn't that they were trying to play on the counter - it was that they didn't offer any threat to speak of. They took two of their best attackers and asked them to play to their weaknesses. To their credit, Forge did well with the space they were given and probably should've won the game. They created more chances and used their players better than York.
