I have to ask, is it pronounced "Gwa-da-loop" or "Gwa-da-loo-pay"?

    In 2007 : Guadeloupe 2 Canada 1
Angloma, Fleurival for Guadeloupe. Gerba for Canada.

It is pronounced "Gwadloup" (in creole). Thus we pronounce it in my country. For historical background, my country originally inhabited by Ameridians was called "Calaou çaera" or "Karukéra" which means "Island of beautiful waters". In 1493, Christopher Columbus and his henchmen have invaded Karukéra. He decided to name this territory "Guadalupa" (in italian language) in honor of "Santa Maria de Guadalupe de Estramadura" in Spain.

In the heat of Tampa with temperatures expected to feel like mid 90's I think I have to favor the Island boys over the Canucks.

Canada 3-1. Attacking GDB from minute 0-80, and then holding the lead final 10.

Borjan to start in goal - as was surely regularly scheduled. Gerba to start up front, subbed out at minute 60-70. Jackson, Gerba (2). Jovial for GDB.

But a few summer days during the year is not the same as a tropical climate during the whole entire year. :p

All weather aside, I think Guadeloupe is the better team and should win.

If Canada plays like they did in the first half against the US..........they could struggle against Guadeloupe.

If Canada plays like they did in the second half against the US.........they should win the game pretty handily. Guadeloupe doesn't have Tim Howard.

I'll go 3-1 in favor Canuckistan.

What is Canuckistan supposed to mean?

GDB is athletic, but they aren't as good as Canada. The weather may even things out. Canada is not that bad defensively. It is our offence that doesn't do the job enough. Canada win 3-1 or 2-1.

I don't know. I just see more imagination and technique on the ball from Guadeloupe. (Has to be the french school of coaching.)

Canada just seems a bit slow and indecisive on the attack to me. We shall see.

So deGuzman is back in the starting line-up, but now Hutchinson is out? Man, is Terry Dunfield cursing these guys or what?

It didn't look like much initially, but on the replay I can definitely see why it was a red. Launching into a two-footed tackle and being horribly late is definitely worth a Red Card.

    obvious match fixing is obvious

i wonder how much Lambourde is getting paid, i mean come on what other reason could there have been to go into a tackle like that in the 3rd minute

Canada seems to be stalling too much in Midfield. Unless Atiba Hutchinson is injured Stephen Hart needs to put him on the field instead of Terry Dunfield.

Will Johnson has been invisible since drawing the Red Card in the 4th minute, so I'd like to see Simeon Jackson replace him. Those little balls over the top don't seem to be working well enough right now, so putting a quick forward like Jackson on could spread out Guadeloupe's defensive zone a little.

That was a BS penalty call, this ref must have had an ex stolen by a Guadeloupe guy.

It was soft, but the Guadeloupe defender definitely and clearly pulled on Gerba's shirt.

The defender, Zubar, has nobody to blame but himself. Player's aren't allowed to pull on each others shirts at all, so I've never understood why players complain when they get caught and argue that it was only a small tug. They're not supposed to make any tugs anyways. If referee's would stop letting players away with the little tugs you'd probably see players stop making any tugs.
