We are preparing for our matches against Paraguay and Argentina in the WC qualifiers as well , so Dunga chose to call less U-23 players.

Great to see Tam back in the fold, but why do we need 4 keepers, and why do we bring Wagenaar and not Begovic. Also, why are McKenna, Occean and Hume not included?

4 keepers does seem like overkill, especially given that two of them have club matches that day.

Re: Canada - Brasil in Seattle?

That's why he called up 4 keepers, Onstad and Sutton may not be released for the Brasil friendly and this roster is for both friendlies. Probably wants to get a look at everyone and then decide who to cut for the WCQ's.

McKenna and Hume are weird absences. Occean was likely not released.

No Daniel Imhof ... I saw one of his goals in a compilation of top 30 Bundesliga goals (#14), and that's what made me think of him. Yes, the long shot vs Hamburg ...

Well, who thinks Canada is gonna get hammered? I just pray Sutton doesn't have a ball clanked off his head again (if he goes).

Imhof is recovering from a head injury suffered 3 weeks ago.

I'm thinking it won't be so bad. We'll hang in there, but in the end just don't measure up...maybe 4-1 or something.

The result isn't as important as the experience our lads are going to get out of this. We rarely get to go up against the big boys, something we need if we're going to step up internationally.

Hoping a good contingent from southern BC show up in support!

Ya, well, I will hope for the best.

If it's streamed on Justintv, I will find it and post it (if somebody else doesn't first). I have my hopes up being that it involves Brazil. Hopes up that it'll be streamed, that is.

When is it going to be played? In EST I mean.

I was just looking at Brazil. Their last loss (says wiki) was to a CONCACAF team, Mexico. which I remember well. Haven't lost since. 12 Wins, and two draws. Been a little suddued lately, though, this year, two 1-0 wins against Ireland and Sweden.

It's 7:30 pm in Seattle, so 7:30 pm PDT, which is 10:30 pm EDT, and would be 9:30 pm EST; though as far as I know the only part of Canada that would currently be on EST rather than EDT is part of Nunavut. Though parts of the Carribean and South America are on EST rather than EDT - not sure where Aquarium is (thought it was in Gaul - that would be 4:30 AM CEST :))

So we really have no TV coverage in Canada? That's kind of bizarre isn't it? I'm amazed nobody would get it, given what has been aired in the past.

    Oh hang on, here's a discussion - http://www.canadian-soccer.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=15625&whichpage=4
looks like they are still negotiating for it ...

Central European Summer Time. France is on CET (Central European Time) in the winter, and Central European Summer Time in the summer.

Still not sure where Aquarium is :)

Looks like we are getting it on tape delay Sunday morning on Sportsnet. I think I can a few hours to watch it - can probably think of something else to do late Saturday night.

Probably :) - choices are pretty limited with a 6-month old so pretty house-bound. I'd love to see a movie, but while screaming through a Galaxy game won't bother most, a little tougher to let them scream through Indiana Jones.

Good luck to Canada. They will definitely need it.

Although I wonder: No offense to the Canadian team (as I'm thinking realistically here), why didn't Brazil find tougher competition? In June they're going to play a couple of teams that always give them a tough time: Paraguay and Argentina for WCQ. Seems kinda strange...

There are probably FIFA rules that require bigger teams to play the smaller teams once in a while so that they can improve their ranking.

I see. Now yer just showing off! ;)

Note to those that live at Aquarium or such places: The game is streamed all over. There's three links at rojadirecta.com, one of them is psn_1.

Another one's a betting site. Thing is, with those, they want yer credit card before you watch, and then they spam the crap out of ya if you give it to them or not.

CSA dropped the ball by having Sportsnet showing the Canada-Brazil friendly on tape-delay on sunday morning instead of sending a camera crew to have it broadcasted LIVE from seattle.

    Oh wow.

Somebody over on the RPB forum mentioned that the game will be on TV live in Lebanon, but we have to wait 15 hours for a tape delay.
