"The second season is fatal." Bela Guttmann He's stayed too long. When he took over six seasons ago, Ipswich were in rag order, sliding towards relegation. He stabilized the club in his first season and got them to the playoffs in successive seasons thereafter, but the absentee owner tightened the purse strings and he's spent the last 2 seasons making bricks without straw, trying to build a promotion-challenger on a bottom-third budget. Large sections of the fanbase are frustrated and have started to take it out on Mick. He doesn't take stick lightly and has accused the fans of being ungrateful, and it's been downhill from there. He was leaving at the end of the season anyway, so he probably decided to hit the beach early and get some rest while his agent listens to offers. And there will be offers.
The Guardian's Barry Glendinning has an interesting take on Mick's walking out. It's well worth a read, although I should point out that Barry, like Mick, is Irish and has always expressed great respect overall for Mick's abilities: As I said, the article is interesting, but this paragraph stands out: At the behest of his chairman, Marcus Evans, McCarthy has been forced to operate on a ridiculously tight budget, assembling his squad with string, sticky back plastic and spare change. A perusal of Transfermarkt.com suggests he has spent £5.5m on personnel since November 2012, while bringing in £18.5m by selling players. The irony of this parsimony will not be lost on fans of their East Anglian rivals Norwich, who had £20 notes waved in their faces by Ipswich fans during the first meeting of the clubs after Evans took ownership. https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2018/apr/13/mick-mcarthy-forced-out-ipswich-fans

Great loan for CCV. Will go back to Spurs, preseason and honestly/hopefully on another loan to get 90 every game somewhere. Rose colored glasses....but I don’t think he is spurs 1st team quality...yet.
He’s not Spurs first team quality, but that’s no knock on him. He’s young yet and has a lot of potential. Time to move up to a more challenging loan.
Newcastle, where he strikes up a great understanding with MNT team-mate De Andre Yedlin under Rafa Benitez's* tutelage and gets acquired at the end of the season as part of the Toon's push for a Europa League place. Here's hoping, anyway. * OTOH, if Rafa leaves and the owners stays, he should run a million miles from any offer

Player's often make big jumps from ages 20-22 so his best is yet to come. Looking forward to seeing him continue to improve.
We are delighted to announce that @cameroncv2 has signed a new contract with the Club until 2021. ✍️ #COYS pic.twitter.com/JzFHdyaMVk— Tottenham Hotspur (@SpursOfficial) May 17, 2018 Long term future is figured out and answers any questions we had about Spurs commitment to CCV. The question is......does he have a shot at Spurs next season or is another loan on tap?
I'd say another loan for at least one more year. I wouldn't mind if it was back to Ipswich Town either. If not the Championship then first league mid table big 4 league at least.
Great news. Spurs have extended his contract. Another one year loan for seasoning, this time to an EPL squad. And then Spurs can take a final look at either keeping him around, or a sale.
He definitely needs another loan. Does Tottenham loan players to the Bund? I feel like it would be an easier step up than a Championship team that was just promoted.
Chelsea did that with Christiansen, I can't see why Tottenham wouldn't be able to. They don't have any currently.
Profile from Philly paper: http://www.philly.com/philly/sports...contract-extension-usmnt-soccer-20180521.html Though, I don't know how Tannenwald messed up his dad's first name: His father, Donald Carter, was a first-round NBA draft pick out of LSU in 1983 and moved to Europe to play after two seasons. While abroad, he met an Englishwoman who went on to be his wife, and they gave birth to a son.
