A post-punk revival/indie rock fan myself......too bad Arctic Monkeys went a bit downhill after their first two pure-gold studio albums. Same thing happened with The Strokes.
A bridge too far is an expression referring to something that is beyond one's reach. Stamford Bridge is where Chelsea plays and where Matt Miazga doesn't play. A Bridge Too Far is an old war movie about a WWII battle....in Arnhem, where Vitesse is from.
Book, actually, long before it was a movie. Written by Cornelius Ryan, who was an amazing historian. He had unparalleled access to American and German officers after the war. He also wrote another famous "movie"- The Longest Day (much, much better book than movie). His third book in the series is out of print but a truely sorrowful story- The Final Battle. It covers the fall of Berlin. Terrible story all around. Back the Bridge (which still stands to this day, I've walked it)- the British First Airborne jumped into Oosterbeek to sieze this bridge- the last in a series that opened the door into the Rhineland. One brigade actually made it to the bridge, it not across it. The fought several Panzer divisions over their half for days while Monty drove up a single, narrow road and relieved the 101st Airborne and the 82nd. But the advance clogged up too much being on a single axis of advance. Eventually the Germans cut the road, surrounded the BFA and decimated the unit. Ike should have listened to Bradley and Patton instead. But, in Monty's defense, opening the ports at Rotterdam and Antwerp really were the key strategic objectives at the time- the Allies desperately needed to shorten their supply lines. Operation Market Garden would have helped with that had it succeeded. PS- in another chapter of amazing stories not often told anymore, many members of the British 1st scattered into the countryside as their unit disintegrated. Many of them were taken in by ordinary Dutch citizens and either hidden until rescue or actively smuggled back to Allied lines. All at great risk and, in many cases, ultimate sacrifice of life by these non-combatants.

I mean in the sense if club functionality , both United and Wednesday at points in the past 15 years have had their very existences threatened with administration. I'm happy they're both bsck doing well, but I dont think Sunderland had it as bad financially as either of them
I think you need to just stop trying altogether, you complained you hadn't seen one person make the statement, when someone did, you were wrong and you tried to get snarky for no reason.
It was a dead post you just brought it up 3 days later... so... good job. I like how you try and call me out but won't call out the inaccuracy of the poster claiming "people" are saying CCV will never make it to the EPL as if some sort of grand conspiracy is doubting CCV. Total straw man. One guy said something to that effect. Fanboys are creating some sort of strawman that "omg the world is against my precious prospect" when that is not true at all. One guy held that opinion. Not "people."

This is how CB loans always go, because developing a partnership takes time. Miazga didn't establish himself as a starter at Vitesse last season until February.
