This has come up a number of times, but the US has much smaller numbers of troops stationed in the UK & Italy compared to Germany. Here are current levels which somewhat mirror historic percentages (minus the Middle East and Afghanistan): While that's not the only source of American coupling (basketball players seem to be a secondary source), it's been where a lot of the fathers have come from in these overseas couples. I think Germany comes up higher in producing dual citizen soccer players compared to say South Korea because of where the couples ultimately settle.
Excellent post. Has there been any Italian born or kid of a US soldier/Italian mother who was capable of playing for the NT? Just seems odd that we haven't had 1. A few English born players but none truly talented.

Wimmer might leave. If he does, that could help out Carter-Vickers chance of playing time. But I'm not going to get excited that he's going to have a big role until it happens. Didn't Pochettino claim he was ahead of Wimmer early in the season? I think Carter-Vickers was actually starting with the starters last preseason, yet he didn't get into any Premier League matches, and when it mattered, Wimmer played, not Carter-Vickers.
Sandro Sirigu of Darmstadt is eligible. He's German born to an Italian Mother & US Serviceman. lol. He's a mix of all of them.
http://www.skysports.com/football/n...ose-in-on-young-argentina-defender-juan-foyth Wouldn't be good news for CCV's playing time.
Ey, the kid has promise, but we shouldn't automatically assume he'll jump ahead of CCV. I think this means Wimmer is almost out the door, and the Dier deal is going to happen. They need cover at the back, and Poch likes to go young.
https://www.google.com/amp/amp.hitc...-vickers-set-for-tottenham-hotspur-promotion/ Here, they say Foyth is going to the reserves to start the season.
He's competition, but thats not the kind of player I think would necessarily effect Carter-Vickers playing time. He's 13 days younger than Carter-Vickers and has the same number of pro games played. Maybe he's an amazing player, I don't know, I haven't seen him play, but I don't think Carter-Vickers should be too worried. He should be more worried about if his coach is going to play him this season. Pochettino talked a big game about Carter-Vickers last season, gave him only four matches.

For those that don't keep up with the Academy threads, Brandon Austin is a '99 US-eligible GK. He appeared at the U-18 level for the YNT. https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/brandon-austin-at-spurs.2027217/

CCV has a whole lot to learn. Nowhere close to being good enough to get serious playing time for Spurs ... I dont care what his manager continues to say (about his potential).
