So you all know about the Bale doppelganger at Spurs, right? How awesome would it be if he turned out to be American somehow.

In case anyone was wondering how he's American and how the USSF discovered him: Cameron, whose father is American, said: “I’m very proud to have played. It was quite a tough tournament – we had three games in four days so physically it was quite challenging but I think USA were the best team. We played in the right way, played with a bit of style and we deserved to win it. “Two of the teams we played against played five at the back and you don’t really get that in England that much. At the beginning it was a bit hard to adapt but once I got going I found it quite easy to fit in. John McDermott, our Academy Manager, was encouraged to see both Cameron and Cy involved in competitive international action and explained how the former came to the attention of USA international officials. “Cameron had an outstanding season at Under-18 level last year while still only a schoolboy,” he said. “His quality was recognised when we went away to the IMG Cup in Florida and played against the USA youth team. “On the day we played really well and they’ve been monitoring him since that point. He’s a joint passport holder, US and English, and obviously the US have recognised his talent and hopefully they’ll want to invest in him over the next few years. http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/cameron-usa-u18-260814/ Some words from him on the US u18s performance: @1:50
Called into the U-23s by Ramos and at 16 is the youngest selection..kid is something special from the small clips I've seen: http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/artic...ngsters-among-those-named-us-u-23-camp-brazil
He reminds me a bit of Oxlade-Chamberlain in his build, though obviously has different attributes on the field. Still, this kid is really promising and I wouldn't be surprised to see him sneak onto the roster in Russia once all is said and done. Early days, but I'm really high on this guy.
Article from Tottenham: But, having already made an appearance for our Under-21s this season, in addition to scoring once in four Barclays Under-18 Premier League appearances, the rising star isn’t fazed by the thought of playing against older players at Estadio Nacional – an enclosure that merely three months ago played host to the Netherlands’ 3-0 win over Brazil in the World Cup third place play-off in front of more than 68,000 fans and will also be used during the 2016 Olympic Games. “I’m looking forward to it and it will be a good experience for me,” said Cameron, whose father is American.
The Guardian has done a piece on the top academy talents born between 1 September 1997 and 31 August 1998 from each Premier League club. Lo and behold, Cameron Carter-Vickers is Spurs' top academy prospect. http://www.theguardian.com/football...0-of-the-best-talents-at-premier-league-clubs
Sounded like he played well against the Brazil U-23's. To give you an idea of how absurd that is, he's a day too old to be playing for our U-17's but he fit right in playing at the U-23 level against a Brazilian team that included a guy with a cap with the Senior Brazilian National Team, a guy leading the top division in Portugal in scoring and a few other players that are getting professional minutes for some good clubs in Europe. I'm not going too hype him up too much because I've never actually seen him play outside of highlights. All I'll say is that he looks really good and I think he deserves a chance to be playing with our U-20's full time and probably the U-23's full time as well. I wonder how close he is to actually playing games for Tottenham. I wonder if they see him as a player who will be fast tracked to the first team to play games soon enough or be one of those players that goes out on loan for a few years before getting a chance to play with the first team at Tottenham.
So... it's actually ******. Weird. It stars it out when I type it in. Let me try it this way: It's actually "CEE VEE VEE" (Credit Verification Value).
