    -----Boateng------
    Niang----------SES
--------Balotelli----- I really like the movement and back tracking that SES/Niang do which allows Flamini/Noce to contain in center while Boateng will be able to roam and disrupt midfield play and than add to attack.

    Cagliari-Milan back in Sardinia

Cagliari-Milan will be played at the Is Arenas after the Sardinian club successfully won an appeal to host the tie.

The stadium was previously this week deemed as unfit to stage the game on Sunday on grounds of public safety.

However, the Rossoblu took their case to the TAR courts who have ruled that the arena is capable of hosting the Serie A encounter.

The Lega Serie A yesterday announced that the match would take place at Turin’s Stadio Olimpico.

Cagliari were forced to play Juventus on the neutral ground of Parma just before Christmas for the same reasons.

worst possible time to give up that goal. unbelievable.

it's sad to see ambro out there. he's totally off the pace. if i was king, i'd take him off for boateng and move muntari to ambro's holding position.

flamini has been excellent so far. it's good to see him playing well the last few matches.

also, it feels like we're going to finish this match down a man. mexes, flamini, ambro, niang, or balo... who's it going to be???

    ses off for boateng.
    ambro off for bojan.

we need to get the ball to ses' feet while he's in there. niang and abate crossing the ball to no one is not going to work.

Balotelli was tackled by Astori 6 yards from goal on a ball that was deflected high.2nd yellow card and than ejected. Legit PK, Balotelli converted and "silenced crowd".
    Analysis:
1st half was decent. No real great spots. Cagliari didn't really attack but had few chances due to boneheaded plays by Zapata. The goal was off a FK from 35 yards out. Cagliari played a simple long ball into box around PK mark, Zapata loses man and he flicks it in past Abbiati. HT whistle blows 5secs after. Horrible way to give up a goal.

2nd half showed more flashes of chances. With no real midfield to create things it was all SES/Balo/Niang to do things and they weren't clicking, but had no help. Boateng/Bojan came in and helped with attack THO I think Bojan should be playing more when we have no creative midfielder ala Montolivo. SES was taking out due to what I assume was him being fatigued and with good reason. The last 15minutes saw us pressuring for a goal but alas we didn't get winner. Balo missed a header from 6yards out, than offsides on another good chance from deflection from Bojan shot and lastly, one of best goals that never counted(Robinho headed a ball back from a cross to Balotelli who was 8 yards from goal who scissor kicked it in, but the ref claimed the ball went out from the cross before Robinho got it) . All in all a poor performance but what you would expect with a midfield of Muntari-Ambro-Flamini. All worked very hard in midfield with tackles and winning ball BUT they added nothing to attack. With the conservative lineup, than a draw was all but guaranteed. We would have needed an 8 rating from all 3 forwards to win this game.

Sidenote: this was the worst I've ever seen Zapata. Missing tackles, getting beat by fwds in footrace (Zapata is supposed to be our fast CB). Mexes was his normal self and not a bad option at CB, however he can't make up for the other CB like T Silva or Nesta did. Bonera/Yepes/Zapata/Zaccardo/former Acerbi all were average CBs. If we go out and sign a guy that is better than we can have a competent contending team, otherwise we are in trouble. I'd even be into starting De Sciglio at CB instead of the guys mentioned. If only we had a legend of a guy to help him learn and improve (MALDINI COME BACK!)
