RA about to be captain at this point. Doesnt he have more goals than Neymar in competitive games under Dunga.
I thought the boys were sensational last night......OK.......I know it is Haiti......but, there was exchange of passing in midfield, for the first time in a long time..... It meant that the forward players received the ball higher.....no more relying on our RW,LW to produce some magic and our DM's to destroy any attack in a hope for a victory. However Dunga is coach, maybe he will say we had too much possession of the ball.
To be fair, we can't play with this type of striker simply because we don't give them adequate service. RO had the same difficulties.
Sensational? Things looked like they were going to be a bit of a struggle until Coutinho made an individual play to breakthrough along with the Haitian keeper's alligator arms. After that, things became easier, but I still thought we had some sloppy moments. There were a handful of poor giveaways where a better team would have made us pay. Haiti couldn't even breakout on a counter in numbers. That had more to do with them than it did us.
It's time for Dunga to make the next set of adjustments to the team. Bring on Lucas Lima for Elias and Gabigol for Jonas.
I wouldn't say it was a sensational performance but also believe we was kinda half-assing it at one point. I think against a better team, we would of played with a little bit more discipline.
I also wonder Dunga will do when Miranda is fit to play. Marquinhos has been better than Gil in these two games.
I think both will start next game since Casemiro is suspended and Jonas hasn't been great but it will go back to normal with only Gabigol keeping the spot. I don't see Dunga ever dropping Elias.
I think Walace will start in Casemiro's place!! Alisson- D. Alves, Gil, Marquinhos, F. Luis- Walace- Willian, Elias, Augusto, Coutinho- Jonas(still trying to get use to this 4-1-4-1 formation!! It does expose Elias' shitty passing!!) I think Dunga wants to use Gabi and Lima as supersubs!!
my -reserved - enthusiasm for the current Brazil side is not because the thrashed Haiti. It's because, since the Panama game, there has....— Tim Vickery (@Tim_Vickery) June 9, 2016 ... clearly been at attempt to play more through the midfield. Encouraging - and long overdue. let's see how this develops under pressure— Tim Vickery (@Tim_Vickery) June 9, 2016
I'll say this midfield play has improve compared to last year in that we are less reliant on the long ball but it's still the weakest part of the team and has been poor in this tournament so far IMO. Individually, Casemiro has been the best. His passing is erratic at times but he has done a great job of covering. Both his yellows were BS.
