Damn... Unsurprising that no Cecilio = no goals. I was mostly hoping for a Miky free kick because there were no playmakers from the run of play. Defensively, it wasn't bad. Chivas didn't have many chances. I don't really disagree with the penalty but the red card was horseshit. Marchesin is looking better every week. Oribe still looking like father time has caught up to him. Was it close enough to buy LaVolpe another week? Probably.
Machesin's best game so far.... He'll be just fine. Unfortunately this won't be enough to give Lavolpe the boot...

Oribe with the brace! Well done. Overall, it felt like a pretty even match. Cruz Azul dominated possession but didn't really generate many dangerous chances. For the few they did, Marchesin came up big when needed. I still don't know what Chino adds to this team. That may have been William's worst game of the season. He is simply miscast as the lone defensive midfielder. Even if it was against lowly Cruz Azul, it still feels nice to get back to winning ways. Any update on Cecilio's health?

Infirmary update: Cecilio hasn't been training and Pelaez says they aren't going to rush anything. He says they hope to have him back next week for Necaxa, but some reports are saying 2-3 weeks is more likely. Edson returns on Monday. Paul Aguilar is rehabbing well and still hopes for an April return. Apparently he and the club are close to signing a contract extension.
We play Santos tonight. As long as we don't lose by more than 5 goals, we advance. Good opportunity to play some youngsters and give the starts some rest.
