Burnley playing a real "ride your luck" style physicality.

A foul called on Firmino when he goes up for a header and got backed into

    And trent with the goal!

Yeah, really not liking how Burnley keep hip-checking our guys on 50-50 headers - and then flopping around for the call. They clearly are playing the ref, and not the game on this... and so far the ref has been buying it.

Nonetheless, The Reds in control after a scrappy first half.

0-2 at half-time. Now would be the time for the first clean sheet of the campaign, wouldn’t you say? Burnley made life tough with its closing down and had some chances but those players couldn’t simplify carry on riding their luck.

Horror show officiating with some of these 50-50 "fouls" called against us but good to be ahead by 2. Well deserved.

Unacceptable to only have a goal haul equal to Sunderland's at Turf Moor ;) .

Fabinho, VVD and TAA. One of those 3 for MOTM.

3-0. 3 good goals. Clean sheet, 13th straight win. It's not all bad. :)

Just the ticket.Three points and a clean sheet.

Burnley players played like a clutch of thugs but that simply meant they didn’t concentrate enough on our weaknesses, such as they are, to exploit them.

    Next.

Over the last 2 Saturday’s we have been faced with two completely different tasks of facing Arsenal and Burnley. We handled both with ease. Klopp’s Liverpool has always had the better of Arsenal, but teams like Burnley used to cause us nightmares. That is a thing of the past. This team can win every type of game against every type of opponent.

They really can. So many strong performances today. We are firing on all cylinders and adapting to each opponent very well

    International breaks annoy me

What was the hissy fit Mane was having today? Missed it. Apparently Salah didn’t pass?

Yes, Mane was wide open and Salah decided to keep the ball and was dispossessed. Then Mane was subbed off and threw a minor fit. Klopp laughed it off, but I'm sure there will be words behind closed doors.

Good result. I'd give Fab MOTM, closely followed by that guy in the #4 shirt we have playing for us. he was pretty good.

Shout out to Adrian - very solid display, a couple of very good saves and good clearing punches. No drama!!

12 points from 12 - and a clean sheet at last thank God!

    • Liverpool have won 13 league games in a row for the first time in their history, while they are only the second English top-flight side to win 13 in a row while scoring more than once each time (after Tottenham in 1960).
    • Liverpool have gone 21 Premier League games without losing (W17 D4 L0); losing just once in their last 43 games in the competition (W35 D7 L1), a 1-2 defeat to Man City in January.
    • Liverpool have won three consecutive away games at Burnley for the first time since August 1970 (all competitions) under former boss Bill Shankly.
    • Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has won five Premier League games versus Dyche; against no manager has he registered more victories in the competition.
    • Liverpool have not lost any of the last 33 Premier League games in which Mane has found the net (W29 D4 L0).
    • Since the start of last season, no Liverpool player has scored more goals in all competitions than Mane (30 - level with Salah).
    • Firmino became the first Brazilian to score 50 Premier League goals; he is the ninth player to reach the milestone for Liverpool overall - no other club has had more (level with Manchester United).

Mané and Firmino were free, the former even more so, but Salah turned back into traffic and lost the balm and team lost the opportunity.

I still think we’re not yet firing on all cylinders building towards that. Unfortunately, the international break interrupts.

Imagine when we do fire on all cylinders! Good times ahead. Keep the momentum going, look forward not back!

From the letters page of f365:

    An evening stroll
Today was a day when things could easily have gone awry. Burnley is a mean place to visit and they play aggressively with and without the ball to make life hard and uncomfortable there. The fans are loud and close to the pitch too.

Yet today was remarkably comfortable. The crowd weren’t baying for blood but instead grumbling because Robertson and Salah put in the rough challenges that were deemed fair instead of their own. ....

Well- you can tell it was an easy game. Only 48 posts before mine.

Was there nothing to complain about? :D

Surely VAR ruined the game in some way, like a lot of people were predicting? ;)
