Former Wolfsburg player, Bas Dost attacked at Sporting's training ground by their own "supporters".

would like to see him go to Huddersfield just out of curiosity. Join the German contingent there even if he represents Kosovo now. Actually Quaner has chosen to play for Ghana and Kachunga has chosen Congo. But all 3 are ex German Youth Internationals and all 3 are strikers/attacking roles. Always interested to see how German duals who choose other countries do.

the one thing Avdijaj really need to work on is his attitude. But he seems a ton better than Dadashov, who tops the cake in unprofessionalism.

Huddersfield also have the Moroccan-German, Abdelhamid Sabiri. He started off the season among the main squad and even started a couple games. But looks like he fell off the rotation afterwards. Decent talent when he was back at FCN, I think he left way too early as well.

had 1 assist in 5 games this season in a 1-1 draw playing like 200 minutes but yeah another player that left FCN too early.

I recall Wagner said in mid-season that Sabiri was still part of his plan and seems to be playing in Huddersield U23. Maybe Wagner realized that he needed experience in order to survive his 1st season, which is why he left him off the main squad. Could get his chances next season though, depending on the transfer business if they boost the squad.

finally, Hasenhuttl is gone, terrible coach, with no plan B and terrible tactics. Hopefully whoever takes his place is more academy friendly.

Hütter did well guiding Young Boys Bern to win the Swiss League title, also snapping Basel's streak of 8 consecutive titles before this season. Interesting to see how he does at Frankfurt.

a bit more to that. He guided Young Boys to their 1st League title in 32 years.

    Haven't won a title since 1987
Haven't won the league since 1986

whenever a coach does that type of thing, it always attracts attention. Same with Marco Rose's getting an Austrian team to a SF in Europe for the 1st time in 20+ years.

also according to Kicker, Favre is against signing Stephan Lichtsteiner. That's good news, he's 34 and turns 35 in Jan next season. Dortmund should be building on younger players/future. Not the past and guys approaching retirement.

Makes sense, especially with Dortmund already having an old aging RB in Piszczek. They'll likely also work towards offloading players that have underperformed and probably won't fit with the new coach's strategy.

Not only in terms of offloading also
with Favre in and Hasenhuttl out, it also means that Dortmund and RB might delay any U19/II promotions since what's the point of promoting someone if the new coach doesn't want them.

same with transfers, I always find it iffy when a player moves to a club without a coach, not smart.

3rd Liga promotion playoff. The winner of each tie gets promoted to 3rd Liga.

Saarbrucken (tops 2BL) vs 1860 Munich (ex 1BL team)
Weiche (tops 4th division) vs Energie Cottbus (ex 1BL team)
KFC Uerdingen 05 (ex 1BL team) vs SV Waldhof Mannheim (ex 1BL team)

No reserves teams made it. Hamburg II, Bayern II, and Freiburg II were the closest ones. With Bremen II relegated this also means that next season will be the 1st season in 3rd Liga without a reserve them competing.

I find it's disappointing the number of German clubs that keep taking players on loan to develop and give playing time from mostly EPL clubs but from other leagues as well. Are we planning on becoming a feeder league like our Eredivisie neighbors?

That's not a logical solution nor long term one for any club. This is also the type of thing that will block even more domestic players.

so now Hannover are interested in Takuma Asano who is on loan from Arsenal to Stuttgart for the last 2 seasons.

what's perplexing is how much Asano has been unimpressive for Stuttgart yet still attracts attention. He played no relevant part in Stuttgart ending up in 7th place too.

reminds me of how Hoff and Schalke were after Belfodil even though he wasn't really that great at Bremen. And Hoff supposedly spent almost $7 M for him.

Freiburg plan on activating the purchase option for Philipp Lienhart, but decline the one for Bartosz Kapustka.

Despite interest from Köln and English clubs, looks like Donis Avdijaj will most likely be moving to the Eredisivie (again). According to a source close to the player, "half of the Dutch league has inquired about Donis".

Is it just me or are loads of footballers really into like high-end fashion, like Jerome Boateng collaborating with some new brand https://www.instagram.com/wearenyden/?hl=en. Shouldn’t they be focusing more on the pitch?
