Werner is just not suited for Bayern. Arp fits Bayern more but he isn't Bayern material yet and likely to go on loan somewhere next season or maybe next 2 seasons?

there are good up and coming talents but they are either in U19 and lower or like the 99s who are playing their 1st post U19 season in 2018-2019, doesn't mean they will jump directly and become starters this early. Take Itter for example, has played well in his 7 1BL games from last season and this one but he's still young and only a back up LB to Rousillon. He's likely the future LB at Wolfsburg but not now. Same with Vagnoman (LB/RB), HSV seem him as their future LB but for now he's a back up. Plenty of other examples.

injury issues is also a major Negative to our future players. Too many waste their chances due to inconvenient injuries.

Ballack shows concern about the state of German football
Things are not going well for German football at the moment, says Michael Ballack.

Former German international Michael Ballack admits he's concerned about the current state of German football.

Speaking to Sky after Bayern's Champions League exit to Liverpool on Wednesday, Ballack said:

"We crashed out of the World Cup early, have been relegated in the Nations League, and the Champions League ended in the round of 16 for all German sides. This is a hint that we're not doing everything right. There's no reason to sugarcoat things."

It's the first time since 2006 that there are no German clubs in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Borussia Dortmund were beaten by Tottenham while Schalke 04 were dumped out of the tournament by Manchester City.

This tells the whole story. The 3 goals were 2 penalties and 1 own goal

Any sane German NT and/or Bundesliga fans should know these will happen eventually. The performance of last 3-4 years were atrocious across any competition. Nevermind all these excuses of 50+1 and shit, even in ********1ng Europa / UEFA cup, last time German team won was 1997. Thats more than 20 years ago. If you had child on 97, he/she is already on college now. And along those years from 97 to now, German team losing left and right from Ukrainian, Turkish, Dutch, French, Russian, etc club. The 50+1 excuses is moot.

Heads must roll, DFL and to some extent DFB need to look hard and gracefully step down if they don't have anything else in their tank to rectify the situation.

my only issue with axing the 50+1 is that this is the only reason clubs play young players from Academy. You let all that money come in and most clubs won't even play Academy players anymore and we'll end up like EPL where the NT coach complains there are barely any domestic players. If we axe 50+1 there needs to be a policy to help promote and protect domestic talents. It's like even Spain, Italy and England have some restrictions set there whereas 1BL only restrictions is for non-EU who have to be min 18 years old. But if your EU, you can do whatever you want. And the 12 German player requirement is a joke too.

thing is clubs are just shit at transfers, been saying since Summer, the league is filled with mediocre players. You got clubs like Stuttgart, Schalke and plenty of others that spent fortunes on meh players and look where they are now.

also that plenty of the best players all leave 1BL after a few years doesn't help either. 1BL also overall does not attract the best talents and the ones who do go there it's all about taking advantage of a "top league" that plays inexperienced youngsters and those guys have 0 interest on staying in future. It's not really that popular league and a lot of people don't want to live in Germany with a different languages/culture.

but yeah that the clubs from the league can't compete in EL vs smaller leagues is embarrassing and something is wrong there. Seems like other leagues are catching up to 1BL.

I don't like Frankfurt but let's go Frankfurt only team left to save some face.

+ news is that Frankfurt are playing away and 1st leg was 0-0, so advantage Frankfurt if they end up tying besides another 0-0.

Auba doing 1BL a solid with a goal and assist as Arsenal lead 2-0 and now 3-3 on aggregate vs Rennes. If Arsenal eliminates Rennes and Frankfurt goes through. We end up with 0 French teams left in both CL and EL while 1 1BL club will be left....

seriously that Ligue 1 is just as bad in Europe (for now) is a good thing for 1BL.

Auba now with 2 goals and 1 assist vs French team Rennes to give Arsenal the 4-3 lead on aggregate. Good let's have 0 Ligue 1 clubs left in Europe.

Big respect to Frankfurt, showing the type of bottle lacking from most other German clubs. They also had to play an away match on Monday night followed by tonight's trip and still won both. They are also combining a good European campaign with a strong domestic one, which few teams other then Bayern have managed in recent years.

that's one club with smart transfers though.
between Jovic, Haller, Rebic, Kostic (on loan)

Rode who's been trash in the past now seems solid player. da Costa established himself even more this season due to Chandler being injured, took his chance well. Trapp doing well too on loan from PSG since their other GK didn't work out.

pretty sure the Jovic, Haller, Rebic trio won't last long. All of Europe seems to be watching them whether this season or the next they will break up. That's always been the issue with 1BL we aren't the best league, so players will be drawn by higher leagues being interested in them and chance to win trophies.

That is true. Happens to most clubs other then a select few at the very top of the food chain though.

What is key is to continue to scout/recruit well and ensure potential replacements are already properly planned before selling. Needs smart management.

as I've mentioned before for awhile RB Leipzig seem obsessed with getting more and more fullbacks. Seems all because last season one point they had mass injuries and they didn't trust their U19 players for a second......

a 01 who doesn't seem to have made any pro debut in Brazil and continues the 1BL interest in South American youth players that started to heat up from the Summer.

is going to play U19 next season? But that seems high $$$ for U19......
