we're doodling around on a message board. You really think we're too busy saving the earth or something?
OK, the auction was ending on a dark, cold, and stormy night (no kidding). I was refereeing a high school match in Avon Lake. The auction was due to end about 10 minutes after I figured the final whistle would be blown. I ran to my Jeep and grabbed my T-Mobile Sidekick, which provides me with internet access. My previous bid was now topped and I had about five minutes to "haggle" a new one. Because of the weather and that I was in the middle of nowhere, the Sidekick had a hard time getting a tower to transmit my new bid. I had to pull over into a parking lot to read the pages. About five minutes after the auction ended, I finally got the page that told me the auction was over and that I had the winning bid. I was estatic! Coincidentally, the sign was in Lima and I had a buddy who had a sales call out there at the end of the week who offered too pick it up. He said that he was nervous driving back to Cleveland, knowing how fragile neon glass is and how important the sign was to me. Pride of place in my apartment's "wall of fame".
OK which one of you lousy Toronto-sucking bastards grabbed the Columbus Crew Budweiser neon that the bar in Marion listed on Craigslist? Just so, you know, I can figure out who to beat to death.
Another member of the Rivalry XI heard from. How are things on the Dark Side? (And didn't you have one of these?)
How WERE things? I'm away from the biz, and I have stories... Yes I do, and you'd need SEAL Team Six to tear it away from me.
I want one of these so bad. The only person I know that has one is Brook. And I guess that cuntknuckle Chris Bailey.
Never did the necro post thing before but I did a search and this thread was, i think, the second thing that came up. For most purposes, searching through old threads is way way too much work. I talked to the people who were selling it and they said they're closing a bar in Marion where it had been hanging. Sold it on Tuesday. Funny thing is, they listed 12 or 15 neon signs and the Crew Bud was the only one they got calls on.
Brook, we know your Crew memorabilia collection is legendary, but do you really have to whip out the twins? Might as well hang the Open Cup Medal from them also ;-)
Too bad I'm at work or I might reward you by whipping out a nice set of twins just for saying it. Any help here?
Someone just sent me this link. Not Budweiser but Gotta have one. http://www.neonsigninc.com/proddetail.php?prod=custom-columbus-crew-logo-neon-sign-1
