Miguel Layún causa baja de la Selección Mexicana para la Copa Oro. El ahora jugador de Rayados será sometido a un procedimiento quirúrgico por una afección renal. 🇲🇽⚽ pic.twitter.com/kja2pi6TJt— Draft Liga MX (@DraftFutMX) May 26, 2019
He's right but then again every player that was in the last world cup didn't do anything extraordinary in their career with the NT and by that I mean take Mexico to the round which they haven't made yet in recent times.
That’s because Mexico isn’t an extraordinary footballing nation. Never have been and not likely will be in the next 10 Years.
Nothing against Layun, he’s a good guy but he didn’t deserve a spot on the team. At one point in his career he was a decent and serviceable player but his level of play is way below what a selecionado should be. Maybe he can regain his form but I dought it.
Chucky Lozano out of Gold Cup for El Tri.Joins a list of Mexico absentees that includes Carlos Vela, Chicharito, Hector Herrera and Tecatito. #eltrienghttps://t.co/FpMZo6mCDS— Tom Marshall (@mexicoworldcup) May 27, 2019 Official.
Most medium articles are garbage, this one is good. I disagree with the long season format not being better than the current system though.
Could be another key player dropping out of Mexico's Gold Cup squad ... stay tuned #eltrieng— Tom Marshall (@mexicoworldcup) May 28, 2019
Does anyone really care about the gold cup? I'd love to see a depleted team beat up on CONCACAF...or have us go a couple of GC without wining to make it interesting again.
I would like to see what martino can do with these team without the important players. I think salcedo is the player that might miss out
😓https://t.co/UE7JW1lOF0— MedioTiempo (@mediotiempo) June 3, 2019
I actually love all of these omissions. This gives us more looks into new players we may not have seen if we played our main guns. Gives them a chance to prove themselves in a competitive situation.
Tata Martino on the injury situation: Ivan Rodriguez and Marco Fabien are working with the kinesiologists. Ankle probs. Carlos (Salcedo) is almost training as normal. In 4-5 days before training as normal. Will release 23-player list sometime after the Venezuela game #eltrieng— Tom Marshall (@mexicoworldcup) June 4, 2019

Mexico Gold Cup squad list: Uriel Antuna will only be included If Edson Alvarez’s injury rules him out. Marco Fabian and Ivan Rodriguez off as expected due to injury. Raul Gudino also out. #eltrieng— Tom Marshall (@mexicoworldcup) June 6, 2019
Sistema 4-3-3.
For some names, yes - for others, no If Chaka or Navarro have "ok" games and don't really screw up, they might gain hierarchy over a better, more promising younger names in the near future under Martino.
