    English midfielder Steve Guppy, a veteran of the top leagues in England and Scotland, signed with D.C. United on Wednesday. Guppy, who turns 36 this month, has played for Newcastle United, Leicester City and Leeds United in England and with Celtic in Scotland. Most recently he played for Wycombe, a lower-division team in England.

    Guppy's gonna be a fish out of water.

    At least the Metro's senior-aged citizen is already crippled for a few months... :)

    i dont know about you all but i love the signing off Guppy. he is a great crosser and he has played well in the first two games with the exception of a few bad passes..im eage to see how he playes the rest of the season

    In general, I don't think these English players can hack it in a league like MLS. They wilt in the heat, complain on the least contact, and they speak funny. :)
