Van Marwijk was the most impressive coach at WC. He's used his rationality, logic, and calm to beat squads with more talented than his own, and he was one Robben chip away from being a WC champion.

Cant believe Tabarez doesn't get more votes. The roster he chose (he left some stars home) was vital as it brought a united group which had a huge impact on the semifinals berth

Obviously such a poll is largely a function of exposure. I mean, what about coaches who've managed to get promoted with a modest budget?

Many of the managers on the above list have an immensely expensive squad to work with.

Sure, Mourinho is a very good coach. Is he truly a special one above his peers? Frankly I don't know nearly enough to have an opinion on that.

But is it that astounding that he won both the Italian league and cup competitions? Hardly. Inter is by a considerable margin the richest club in Italy:

    http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/serie-a/startseite/wettbewerb_IT1.html

What about the CL? Okay, that's far more of a feat given that Inter's got "only" the fourth-most expensive squad. But it's hardly a "fairy-tale" win.

Seems to me like the question of what resources a coach has at his disposal isn't much factoring in into either the choices offered in this poll or into the votes submitted.

Furthermore, I'm inclined to also reward not only simple winning achievement, but also consider HOW teams played.
