From what I am able to gather (damned Cyrillic alphabet), Johnsen made his debut by coming on in the 63rd minute. He also picked up a booking in the 82nd minute.

Hmm, I'm learning Bulgarian so correct me if I'm wrong but that's Russian Cyrillic, not Bulgarian.

Johnsen in Bulgarian would be Джонсен, as they pronounce the "J" in John more like the "j" in "dijon" mustard with a slight "d" before, hence the Дж for J.

 

No, because he is a Scandinavian, it's "Yonsen" much like like in "Aron Yohanssen". It has nothing to do with the Cyrillic (and, it'd be the same in Bulgarian and Russian and Belorussian and Ukrainian).

FWIW, there was a well known Austrian player in the 1970 named Kurt Jara, (59 caps, played for Valencia and Schalke among many clubs) and a Chilean performer and social activist named Victor Jara. It's the same name, right? One is pronounced "Yah-ra", the other "Khah-ra". And, it'd be spelled accordingly in Cyrillic.

This is the time when the Bulgarian A League splits into a Championship Round (top 6 teams) and Relegation Round (bottom 6) and they play home and away to determine champions, European places and relegation.

Litex Lovech is fortunately in the Championship group and played their first game, a 0-0 draw at Lokomotiv Sofia. They are now in 4th, 8 points behind 1st and a tiebreaker out of Europa League spot 3rd.

What number is our lad? I enjoyed watching some of this match. What a beautiful stadium and pitch. The field looked froZen almost. Several times when players fell, I t looked as though they had been thrown onto a concrete parking lot. Foul at about 78:00 minutes into the match is a good example.

 

That part of the world is experiencing a colder than usual spring. Bulgaria must have been near/below the freezing point here and is not used to it. Crimea, just to the north, was snowed in.
