This show has the weirdest sensibility (if that's the right word) of any show I can think of. Spoiler (Move your mouse to the spoiler area to reveal the content) Show Spoiler Hide Spoiler If Gina's dead, that's much weirder than even the way Seinfeld killed off Susan, in my opinion, because Gina is a much more important character. If the idea is for her to be an hilarious cripple, that's pretty weird too. I went to the show's Wikipedia page to see if it had any insight into the ending and its import going forward, and the ratings look to be down a lot. We shouldn't be shocked if there's no season 5, and IIRC how actor contracts work, the standard contract is for 5 years, and shows often only last that long because for year 6, many of the actors are tired of the same job and need a big pay increase to re-sign with the show, and those salaries make the show unprofitable. It takes a minimum of 4 seasons to have enough episodes for syndication, which is the goal of any TV show. Was this show a midseason replacement? Because that would mean they'll really be at 3 1/2 seasons after this year. So probably there will be a year 5, but year 6 seems really unlikely.
The current standard for syndication is 88 episodes. "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" will reach that number by the end of this season.
#Brooklyn99 returns on April 11. RETWEET if you're ready! pic.twitter.com/F9kgCJXByl— Brooklyn Nine-Nine (@brooklyn99) January 11, 2017
The Brightest Star in the Cosmos, living in a Gina-less world for two months, like a goldfish, BRB'ing, wolf urine, Pilsners, cartoon turtle sobbing and the little sushi roll that cuts its head off, jazz brunch and Eggs Benedict in a lickity split. -G
That Nathan Fillion cameo appearance was interesting and quite daring depending on how you interpret it. One of the reasons that "Castle" was supposedly cancelled was because he was rumored to be jealous of Stana Katic's ever growing role on a show for which he was the titular character. Now "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" has him as the jealous cast member of a cop show who tries to derail his female co-star's career.
Gloomy Gus, Tommy turned Terry onto tennis, "So what's it gonna be? Rock, Paper, Scissors... or Gun?", chicken fingers, dorn't and "What Would Bugs Do?". -G
Strike Team Thunder Kill Alpha Colon Hard Target, big and juicy, juiced this mama, Ginazon, cement, BMX detective, and Bullet Tornado / The Man Sprinkler. -G
Who Wore It Best?, Pshh, Moo Moo, knee deep in the thick rich broth of parenthood and eating cake for dinner. -G
The grin was to stay consistent with previous posts in this thread, but that certainly was one of the show's more heavier episodes. -G
Jake's prank, thermometer museum, clammy hand, Terry Can Tote Anything, bologna/baloney, The Mustard City, pillowcase shirt, giraffe heart, milk on the rocks and Daniel Gabriel Farenheit. Also, braided Amy, boiled egg, The Mother Dough, Crinkle City, Kazaam, Jefferd's Junction, Tang Town, the Council of Cousins and the Boyle Daily E-Mail Blast. -G

Broken handle, everything's a Transformer except cars (in Jake's version), The Jam On Incident, Founding Fathers Underoos, gig economy, Laverne, Tank Hendricks, shame, Gina schools you, shocked and enraged, lovering, sker-plash and Cowabunga. Also, Floppy-foot, Detective Ignatius Pennyweather IX, Monkeyberry Marshmallow Blaster, ginger ale, Sleezy Jay, ranch dressing, torqued up the hog and puppy puzzle. -G
They must have known well enough ahead they would be getting a fifth season, otherwise that cliffhanger ending would have totally sucked. Also: Rosa wagging at step-class and her courtroom outfit.
Did any of y'all watch My Name is Earl? I really liked that show until they sent Earl to prison. About 1/3 of the way into that season I stopped watching, because the show started to totally suck. Jus' sayin'.
Jail works if it's for 1-2 episodes max. Like the witness protection episode. Anymore and it will suck.
Yeah, although you could say it was a 3 episode finale as the plot continued from the previous episode.
