Carlos Eduardo, tonight, setting up one goal and scoring a penatly for Hoffenheim. 120 ball contacts.

Maicosuel, most 'Brasil' Brasilian, I've ever seen in German liga. Fantastic skilled, great tecnic, I hope he gets more effective.

The wife of Inter goalkeeper Julio Cesar has revealed the Brazilian is on the mend after he was involved in a car accident on Sunday, but she didn't clear doubts about his availability for Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Chelsea.

The 30-year-old skipped yesterday’s training session at Appiano Gentile after suffering bruises in an incident while driving his Lamborghini in the San Siro neighborhood.

Susanna Werner has explained that his husband had just driven some guests home and went out again to get some ice cream, and she learned of the accident as she received dozens of worried text messages after landing in Milan back from Brazil.

“Thank God, nothing serious happened,” Werner writes on her personal blog." .... etc

    Silva was solid.
Lucio having Drogba in his backpocket. :D
    Maicon was a beast defensively.
Cesar played a good game overall bar an error.

Job well done by our boys today.

what is it with Shaktar Donetsk? how are they bringing in all these brasilians?

douglas costa is now there - i see him being a future #10 for brasil NT between 2010 and 2014...

anyone know the scoop on how this team is able to bring in so many brasilians and why they do so well?

ukraine wouldn't be a place i imagine brasilians would want to play...

    appreciate the insight..

It's all the same story: Brazilian player ________ is bought by (Russian/Ukrainian team), not even one year into their contract they express their discontent with being there and is sold the next year to another Euro team.

The only Brazilian that has lasted more than 2 years is Wagner Love... why? Cause everybody loves Wagner Love.

That is absoulutely not true. Many Brazilians have lasted more than 1 season in Russia/Ukraine. Elano himself was at Shaktar for 3 years.

that's totally bogus and you are 100% incorrect. there are cases where players from brasil go to italy, spain, england and any country in europe and can't adapt for one reason or another, but if you followed Donetsk, you'll see they have put together a team with many brasilians over the past few years and have been competitive in the europa league - they won the tournament last year.

if anyone has any insight about Donetsk i would be curious to know their formula for success the past few years and being able to put together a strong squad...

To say something about the Brazil players in East Europe:

Teixera has been injured, could not really play a pre season and he was not called for his team when they played Europe Leauge (they are out of it anyway)

Kaka looks like he's starting to settle now at Madrid. Started off slowly in today's match against Tenerife but improved in the second half (including scoring a good goal). I really hope he continue to improve so he's in top form by the time the world cup starts.

great play and pass by douglas costa - i have a feeling he'll be the #10 for brasil by 2014. i've been watching him since the U20's for the NT.

    he has got great potential....

Kaka played well against Tenerife because they attacked a lot and left a lot of space for counterattacks which so far has been very unusual for teams playing against Madrid, which in turn is the exact reason why Kaka has been struggling. He's not great in small spaces and his pace has been really weak lately. The only reason he isn't shred to pieces by Madrid fans and media is because he is a very professional and dedicated player, he's showing a lot of effort during games (and obviously a WPOY winner will always provide the occasional glimpse or decisive move) and he is very involved in trying to help the team score. But you can say Madrid expected a lot more from him.

Youngster Breno out for 6 months after a harsh foul from Youngster Reinartz, who already stated in a letter, that he is sorry for the accident on the official page of Breno's current club.
