Thiago Neves partied into the morning hours after relegation... sigh. He's one of the villains, but from what I know, not all players went along with the anti-Rogerio Ceni panelinha. It would be the worst thing if he left the team - the team stays on to suffer the second division and he gets a job in a first division club. If he's got any honor, he'll stick around, fulfill his contract (which expires in 1 year from now), and he'll work hard to get Cruzeiro back to the first division.
Veloso said that Sampaoli is a done deal at Palmeiras. Sampaoli has no contract break up clause after Jan 1. I am not sure how his personality will fit. I think there is potential for him to butt heads with the club. Gonna be a costly mistake if it goes wrong.
They said he threw a party at his house in BH that went into the morning today. He said he has been in Rio for the last 2 days with his kids. Somebody is lying ... Thiago Neves was apparently a dick, but don't put it past the Cruzeiro board to make up extra shit to shift more of the attention to him and his buddies on the team.
If the part about him throwing a party was a lie made up by Cruzeiro management, well that would simply show what a bunch of lying crooks they are. Thiago Neves hasn't behaved in an exemplary manner, but that doesn't mean he deserves to be the victim of unfounded accusations.
@celito https://globoesporte.globo.com/fute...r&utm_medium=Social&utm_campaign=ge_palmeiras vai ficar no cheirinho?
Smoke screen to not pay the contract breakup clause. Or if true, I'd call his bluff. Santos doesn't have the money to invest in the team the way he wants. And he won't make more money anywhere in SA. Maybe Boca and River would pay him well.
Palmeiras' next coach could be Sven-Göran Eriksson. Believe me, it's a big bet. He speaks portuguese and has already expressed interest in coaching a brazilian club.
Pretty interesting fan movement that has been going on at Vasco. In the past month there has been a campaign that has gone viral and has increased socio torcedor numbers by more than 140k new members (to 170k as of today) making them the Brazilian team with the most socio torcedor members. The average plan bought wasn't even the lowest (R$8) ... the average member signed up for the R$25 plan. That is a substantial revenue stream that will help the club going forward as long as the numbers don't fall out. That's around R$3.5m a month of extra revenue. The club now has to execute on that faith put forth from the fans. They also received R$3m in donations from fans to build a new training ground. Vasco
20 minutes in and flamengo is getting dominated. Really disappointing. How long until pek starts stressing when announcing??
Gerson has been in bad form here the last month. It's almost as if he is in vacation mode. Diego has changed the game once again.
I am seeing people want to start Diego over Gerson. I am not sure if that's the right move or not. Diego has been effective coming in during the second half, but I am not sure how good he will be for 65+ minutes. It'll be interesting to see how JJ approaches it.
Diego would be a defensive liability IMO. Specially against Liverpool. Defenitely start Gerson. Then go from there. I missed the 1st half but sounds like Flamengo were outplayed again.
Flamengo fans spaz to much, at the very worst you will need his physically in the midfield. I can't imagine Diego starting
Gabigol's reaction to the 3rd goal was as if nothing had happened. Dude really is worried in getting his name on the scoresheet.
Flamengo got me nervous going into halftime but when they scored that equalizer early in the 2nd half I had a feeling a virada was a matter of when and not if. Half of the 1981 reunion is set up, and I expect Liverpool to do the job vs. Monterrey tomorrow. After 2010 and 2013, there is no Mazembicada this year. Grêmio reached the final in 2017 and Flamengo this year; Atlético Nacional and River Plate are the two last CONMEBOL representatives to flounder in the semifinals.
