It's tough. On one side, they got pretty close to the title, on the other, it was a good season considering the expectations in the beginning of the year. Diego was a good pickup and I think with the professional attitude the diretoria has implemented, Flamengo should do well in the coming years.

Nice, if my Cruzeiro (the former Palestra Itália in Minas Gerais) sucked this year (we escaped relegation but will probably not even reach the Sulamericana), at least my second team, Palmeiras (the former Palestra Itália in São Paulo) won the Brasileirão.

    Congratulations Palmeiras!

I know the Enea thing is a bit of BS, but I'd say 2 of those 4 pre 1971 Brasileirao titles were legit. The 2 Robertao titles (67 and 69) had a pretty legit format with all the top teams. The Taça do Brasil titles I'd equate to Copa do Brasil titles. So in my book we have 7 National League titles.

Good job, Palmeiras, you guys deserve it. Too bad - too bad indeed - that Gabriel Jesus is leaving for Manchester City.

Mina will probably be gone too. Word is Cuca is also not staying. Although his coaching was not revolutionary , it will be a loss .

They can always get Gabigol on loan!! There seems to be no sign of him getting off of Inter's bench in Italy!!:(

Congrats to Palmeiras. I held out hope until the last day to see if Santos could overcome but it just wasn't meant to be this year.

I'd say I have one relegation candidate in 2017 already, but I doubt Ney makes it through the Carioca unscathed.

Wait, how is Dudu a front runner for craque da Serie A? He's good good, but not that good.

I don't agree with it, but I can see how they'll justify it. He was arguably the best player on the best team. GJ was out of form for a stretch of games, missed games due to NT, etc.

I'd say Mina was better and obviously GJ when in form but yeah he is the captain and played most of the games so that counts. My pick would probably be Diego.

Dudu was the most consistent. Mina was great, but it's always tough for a defender to win. Diego played half a season.

Vitória holding a 1 x 0 lead over Coxa with 10 mins go. If this result holds Inter will have to win and hope for Sport to tie next round because they probably can't make up the GD with Vitória even if they lose.

Clasisco Internautico muito próximo para o ano que vem.

@Mengão86 is baptista going to coach palmeiras ? I am seeing conflicting stories , my ponte sources that were way ahead of the Roger to botafogo and Fabiano signing for ponte say yes but I'm not buying it yet. Also did you see rildo to botafogo ? I wonder if it's going to happen. And thirdly , have you heard any praise for Marcelo cabo ? Any rumors How is he not being linked with serie a jobs ? He essentially won the serie b by a landslide with lots of players that were lower middle table in previous years. I laughed this year when I read ag fans bashing his hiring. His job at macae was extremly underrated.

Yeah, Baptista already held a press conference that he's leaving Ponte, but didn't confirm he would be leaving to Palmeiras (but it only makes sense). I haven't heard anything in months about Rildo. At the time, SPFC was also interested in him. I haven't really heard any praise about Cabo but I actually did see him linked as a possible replacement for Baptista at Ponte. I've heard more praise about Fernando Diniz than Cabo.
