Getting a look from the England U19s: So happy to be selected and travelling with the U19 England squad for the Euro Elite Rounds! 😁⚽️— Brandon Austin (@baustin__) March 15, 2018
Called in for the England U19s: http://www.thefa.com/news/2018/apr/27/england-u19s-training-squad-named-270418
FWIW, someone told me that there are serious questions about his USMNT eligibility. I can't confirm, but it's what I heard.
It takes balls to move to England when your name is Neville, so this kid comes from good stock. #toosoon?
This possibility came up very early in this thread. We know his dad wasn't born in the US and Brandon is unlikely to have lived 2 years in the US, so, for FIFA eligibility, that leaves the grandparents needing to be born in the US and it appears their ties to the US are through the US Virgin Islands which is a different country for FIFA purposes. Of course, it's possible the issue is on the US citizenship side of the equation first. It's possible his dad wasn't able to pass on US citizenship automatically as he may not have lived long in the US beyond college. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

VfB Stuttgart 0-3 Spurs Austin, Mukendi (Dinzeyi 29), Hinds, Marsh, Eyoma, Tanganga (Markanday 32), Tracey, A Shashoua, Sterling (Griffiths 37), Roles, S Shashoua (Duncan 32). Started the U23 derby with Arsenal. Watched most of the game, he looked solid in a 1-2 defeat. While Arsenal dominated the ball, he did well on a couple shots and commanded his area. Also, saved a well taken penalty on a dive low to his right. Very lanky goalkeeper, could use a few LBs of muscle.
Looks like @bshredder confirmed Austin’s US ineligibility: And Brandon Austin is actually ineligible for the US— Brian Sciaretta (@BrianSciaretta) January 8, 2019
Orlando City continues to show that its people are readers of this forum, taking Austin on loan (and calling him English-American): https://www.orlandocitysc.com/post/...c-acquires-american-goalkeeper-brandon-austin
Question for someone more informed , could he be ineligible for the US and still rep us in a youth friendly? "A product of the Tottenham Hotspur youth system, Austin has made 78 competitive appearances across all levels of the Hotspur organization. Having made one friendly appearance for the United States U18 team against Slovakia’s U18s in 2017, the goalkeeper earned his first call-ups to the England U21 squad in October and November of 2019."
The reality is that there aren't any likely penalties for playing an ineligible player in a youth friendly. No one is likely to protest. There have been players who haven't been eligible who played in youth friendlies for the US -- some who weren't US citizens; some who might be US citizens but aren't eligible for the US squad at the time.
Danny Potts played for the U.S. U-20 team and never became a citizen For Austin, he is American but his American citizenship only has him eligible for the United States Virgin Islands national team, IIRC.
