We're apparently considering a bid for Michael Keane. At the quoted rate of 30m, that's a bit rich. Given our style of play and how susceptible we are to the counter-attacks against lower-in-the-table clubs, we need an extremely mobile CB and Keane isn't it.
We probably aren't. It's one of those stories where an upcoming English player is linked with a move to ... then throw in a list of clubs and any old random transfer fee
Noise in the media about us moving for James Rodriguez if we finish top 4. Lovely player, but don't see Klopp spending 50m on a player that hasn't shown himself willing to participate on the defensive side of the ball in the manner Klopp likes. Other links: More on the Michael Keane and Ben Gibson rubbish. We're prepared to pay the £12m buyout clause of Demario Gray. Can't get into LCFC's first team ahead of Marc Albrighton, but he's going t push Cout/Mane? And finally, rumors that we've been scouting Kasper Dolberg, the striker from Ajax. Young, talented, extremely athletic and mobile. Sounds just what Klopp would be looking for in a striker.
here we go again .... Liverpool's 24-year-old attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho is Barcelona's number one summer transfer target.
The way he's played the last three months, would we really miss him? Nothing in these rumors - as you said every time a pic of him talking to Neymar while on int'l duty shows up it means he's leaving. New contract. No buyout clause. Barca isn't paying the €100m we'd be able to demand.
This type of rumour is always a concern however I still think Coutinho needs to up his game / take his performances to another level before Barcelona come in with a substantial offer
Heard reports that ManU were going to offer a bazillion pounds to lure Neymar away from Barcelona...maybe having him as close as Manchester would soothe the Coutinho away talks???
If they go without CL for the 3rd time in 4 years, there is going to be a whole lot of suicidal mancs...
I don't hate Mancs...............................but I'd be willing to drive a few to the nearest bridge.
Now the rumor is we're going to swap Coutinho for Rakitic. Riiiiiigght. We're going to trade in our 24 year old winger/attacking midfielder for a damn good but 29 year old central midfielder.
To be honest, Id do it for Rakitic and 60 million euro. Then get some real left winger like perhaps Pulisic, Sane or Dembele. LW is not where Couthino is best
He's not best centrally. When he plays central all he does is drift left so he can cut inside and shoot...
The Times reports that we have 100m to spend. If that is all we have, good lord Henry is being a tight arse. Klopp should be spending 150m on 4 players that will be starters in their positions - a LB, a CM, a winger, a striker. If they don't possess enough quality to push our current starters to the bench, why are we buying them?
Maybe that's 100m net? Which could easily be 130m+ gross? Which should be enough for 3 top class players + a squad player/youth prospect?
That better be a net number, hopefully we can get some decent money for sales; Sakho and Sturridge(?) should bring decent money at a minimum.
Should be a lot more then 100m net considering we made a profit last summer and did nothing in January. Give Klopp a chance
And this is a great wind-up right before the derby - "Liverpool are set to smash their transfer record for Lukaku" Klopp smacked this down in no uncertain terms. Schalke's sports executive Christian Heide has put Liverpool and other PL clubs on alert after hinting that 21 year old Max Meyer is not happy at the club. "You talk about a new deal when both sides are happy,” he said. He also states in his quotes that he knows of no discussions with Liverpool. He's a kid we should definitely have an interest in, however.
