I do miss the Klopp days when our team was highly motivated and capable of beating bigger teams. People making fun of Klopp for being tactically dumb, not having plan B etc should see where the apparent tactical masterminds like Guardiola, Tuchel stand despite of having best teams at their disposal.

So Liverpool with a team containing the likes of Matip, Alexander-Arnold, Robertson, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Shaqiri and Origi etc, hardly world class players, trash Barca with their overwhelming energy, physicality, teamwork and pace. And most of all their mentality. There is NO reason why Dortmund cannot aim to replicate these kind of qualities, especially at home.

All it needs is a motivational coach with a bit of bravery and a good fitness/medical department.

Klopp definitely makes a difference, but so does the whole mentality of the Club. Liverpool is a club which participates in CL to win the competition, Dortmund does to get as far as it is possible outside of the group stage. You will not hear an single soul at the board of Dortmund talking about winning such an competition. Makes an huge difference in the way the whole club and their players mentality shapes.

They also have Alison, VVD, Salah and Mane. We have zero players like them.

The closest we got was Dembele and Lewandowski.

Not true, we have Reus and Sancho. The nucleus of the team is not bad, we just need to have faith in it and give them games. Ajax is the model we should be looking at.

Reus, Sancho, Weigl, Akanji, Zagadou and I still believe in Dahoud is a good spine even if it is inexperienced. They could mature I can become something special.

Alcacer and Gotze are decent 2nd choice players as is Diallo.
Raphael can still become a good attacking left back.

The problem is Liverpool have no bad players, where as we have some really weak players in the team and lack of experience cost us.

We would need 4/5 signings to reach the level of Liverpool and to spend the best part of 150 million. It's just not going to happen.

Agreed although the Raphaël left back ship has sailed as far as I'm concerned and it's best to let him keep doing his thing as a wide playmaker and acquire someone else to play LB. Buy a solid (not necessarily a star) CF so that playing a "true" #9 is always an option and make a call on Isak in the preseason. And hopefully there are some legs to the Brandt rumors.

If you give our squad to someone like Klopp he would def have won this league and done better in the CL.

This is the main issue. Either get a promising young coach like JK, TT or a successful one. Not someone who is a proven midtable also ran.

I don't understand Slash's insistence on putting Tuchel on a pedestal. He choked vs one of the worst ever Liverpool sides with a BVB made to win the Europa League three years ago and this season he choked vs one of the worst ever Manchester United sides with a star-studded PSG.
