It's the off-season. There's little Republic news to talk about outside of the stadium and expansion talk, which has made this a dull forum. Our friends over on the SJ board have a thread discussing a new tagline. The tagline is a brief comment underneath the message board name on the board's "home" page. SJ's current tagline is, "Home at last," which is a reference to Avaya Stadium, a milestone in the club's history. Over at Chicago Fire, "Sale announced, yet?" Columbus Crew: Be MASSIVE, my friend. DC United: Lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch'intrate. (Abandon all hope, ye who enter) @Knave, was that you? FC Dallas: Busca la forma (Find a way) Houston Dynamo: Better football than the Texans You get the picture. How about a tagline for our board? Would it represent a shared description of our own view of the team? Or, would it be a description of the fans who post on this board? Any suggestions as to what our tagline would be? @30King, do you have the power to post it?
Those are excellent, and the Miami reference is very apropos. Outright plagiarism, but I love Blood. Sweat. Beers.
Yup. Chosen during one of the team's (many) dark eras as a message to the hopeless fans at the time, and (one hoped) the team's opponents in some brighter future. I'm gonna have to think about this.
