Dunno about him playing for Mexico's YNTs but IIRC he was definitely willing to play for Mexico at one stage. There was even a quote on these boards of him saying that he's "a Mexican, trapped in the body of a gringo," and it's not surprising. His parents moved south before he was born/when he was a child because they preferred the lifestyle and he grew up there, living the life of a (well-off) Mexican. Since the Mexicans never seemed to reciprocate that feeling, I'd imagine accepting the US callup wouldn't have been that hard at this age. In your teens and early 20s you carry a torch for Salma Hayek no matter what. Mid-20s you realize that she just isn't into you, so you go with Miss America I guess.
He was called up to Mexico's YNT's once, I believe. Either way, I just don't view him as a NT level goalie (or even close to it) at this current point. Who knows about how good or bad he'll be in a few years, but right now he really shouldn't be in the picture. Hopefully he can gain back his starting spot, and start improving.

Yarbrough was in goal on Wednesday as Club León fell 4-1 to Club América at the Azteca in the first leg of their playoff quarterfinal. The third goal occurred when Yarbrough came out for a ball over the top and took down the attacker for a penalty. The penalty then went under him as he dove to his right. The fourth goal came when he was beaten near post by a free kick from a tight angle. Highlights The return leg is tonight at 9:06 p.m. on Telemundo, NBC Universo, NBC Deportes En Vivo Extra, and fubo.tv.
The lineups online list Yarbrough in goal as Club León won the home leg 2-1, but lost the series 5-3 on aggregate. The highlight video shows that it was Christian Martinez, not Yarbrough. Yarbrough made 1 start in the regular season and all 9 starts in the run to the Copa MX final. Highlights
William Yarbrough made 2 saves & kept a clean sheet in León’s 1-0 win @ Chivas. León moves up to 2nd on the Clausura table. #USMNT— Roderick MacNeil (@rodmacneil) February 14, 2016
I caught his last game against America. I turned to my dad in the middle of the game and said "if he keeps this up hes going to have a chance in the near future if Guzan and Howard keep struggling." He was showing incredible quickness and reactions that game.
I didn't realize Pizzi left until I saw him on the sidelines for Chile. El Flaco Tena took over the gig apparently. Only his 14th job over the last 20 years,

That's what I was wondering. I know he had a bit of a dip form late last year and got benched, but he's earned the job back and still started fairly consistently the past few years. I think it's too early to start sending Howard and Guzan out to pasture, but when people bring up replacements he's almost never mentioned.
Last night: William Yarbrough made 5 saves (& allowed 1 absolute howler) in León's 1-1 draw @ Morelia, Leg 1 Liguilla Quarterfinals. #USMNT— Roderick MacNeil (@rodmacneil) May 12, 2016
Yarbrough, according to Wiki, led the Clausura in both clean sheets and saves. If true, that's pretty impressive! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015–16_Liga_MX_season#Clean_sheets
He made several wonderful saves and kept Leon in it for most of the game. The first goal bounced off two Leon players and the last one was a breakaway from Irving Lozano ( great player) and all he had to do was beat an old Jonny Magallon. The play was sprung by Omar stealing the ball with a header.
