The same lineup again. A win and we are in the CL next season.
Weidenfeller will get a last game before his retirement (not sure about a full game or a sub). We can be thankful for what he did for the club but in case the next game against Hoffenheim determines CL or no CL for us, I hope that won't be the game Weidenfeller gets to play.

    Bürki
    LP Soraktis Toprak Akanji
    Weigl
    Pulisic Götze Reus Sancho
    Philipp

Bench: Weidenfeller, Schmelzer, Castro, Dahoud, Sahin, Schürrle, Yarmolenko

0:1, Mainz scores in the 4th minute. Good attack by Mainz, poor defending by us.

Philipp makes it 1:2 after 16 minutes.

Far too weak in midfield. I would take off Pulisic for Dahoud and move Reus to the right. The defense needs a complete overhaul in the summer.

1:2 at halftime. Not a good showing. Mainz even bossed possession for parts of the game.
Toprak is out injured and Sokratis is suspended for the next game because of the 5th yellow. We can be lucky that Stuttgart leads against Hoffenheim and Leverkusen's game is currently 0:0. But we could still lose it all on the last matchday.

The expected Pulisic sub happened. Can't disagree with it. That Stöger only makes the positional changes and doesn't alter the formation is also something we saw in previous games. At least Schürrle got himself into good situations in the last game even if he wasted them all.

Very poor result, but it has not cost us as much as it could have. A point in the last game will be enough for top 4.

In our fight for the CL qualification, we lose against a team that wants to avoid relegation. Dreadful game. Goal difference is on our side but still, getting only one point against Bremen and Mainz is a joke when you want to play in the CL.

Yeh it's been a disaster of a season, but making top 4 is the bare minimum. I would like to see Raphael (almost certain to go) and Goetze given one last chance with a top manager. 7-10 players need to be shown the door in the summer. Sancho looks really special. I hope we can keep hold of him for a little while longer, but the positive is he is English. If he develops the way he can, then even by the end of the season we are looking at over £150 million for him.

What happens if we lose by a 3 goal margin to Hoffenheim and Bayer Leverkusen win by a 3 goal margin? We would be level on 55 points and goal difference of 16 right? Does it go to head to head which favors Dortmund?

Number of goals scored is the next decider.

Thank you hava, all Leverkusen need is to win by 4 goals and us to lose by 3 or 4 then.
