Because of injury issues and Sokratis' suspension, the first 11 looks weird. Tactical formation given by Kicker according to the released lineup:

    Bürki
    Bartra(??) Subotic Weigl(??) Toljan
    Castro Sahin Götze
    Phillip Auba Pulisic

I hope this somehow works out but we might lose the top spot today. Given who is on the bench, I understand our bad situation in defense. Zagadou is available though. The question is whether Subotic has is it still in him to warrant putting Bartra on the right and Toljan on the left instead of trying Toljan+Zagadou.

Bench: Weidenfeller, Zagadou, Kagawa, Larsen, Sancho, Isak, Yarmolenko

I suppose a 3 man backline, Weigl on his usual position and Götze in a further advanced position would be somehow possible as well.

Goal by Sahin for the lead.
Wild game so far. We give up too many counterattack situations.
So far, Subotic looks decent, his long passes were fine, too.

A couple of dangerous situations against us. Bürki and Subotic save the lead, followed by another 2 chances wasted by Frankfurt.

Auba with another shocking waste of a chance. Blasts it above the goal.

Our defense is a mess. The offside trap isn't working it all. Would be nice if we could convert one of our chances.

Goal by Philipp to ease the nerves. This was end to end stuff so far as both defenses are a mess.

Penalty goal for Frankfurt. Looked clumsy by Bürki but Rebic was wide open in front of the goal.

Asking a 22 year old to switch clubs, go to a different system and then making him play LB and RB whenever required from one game to another or from one half to another is far too much. I find it hard to blame Toljan.

Think Rebuc would have missed , no control of the balk , but not blaming Burki .

DAZ and Phillip have no idea how to play defence.

2:2. Our defense is just bad. Just one pass into the final third is enough. How we give up so much space while having the lead is a mystery.

And another classic BvB meltdown!! From 2-0 to 2-2 in 2 minutes with 22 minutes to go...

This is ridiculous . Supposed to be top level football . Like watching a game in the park .
We missed too many chances but even at 2-0 had no control of the game .
Another black mark against Bosz for me .

Something needs to change asap. This team is clueless on the field defensively.

Absolute awful result from 2-0 up .
    PB thinks he's playing Fifa 19 .
We are miles from being a top side .
    PB substitutions baffling

2 dropped points. Sahin could have been the game winner. We looked better at the end but it doesn't matter. We had no control until Frankfurt equalized.
    Sancho had a good debut.

I want to have patience with Bosz - but today's game was just too much to take. Zero midfield control or composure, and absolutely atrocious game management.

Rather than focus on protecting a somewhat undeserved lead of two goals, we continue to play an absurd line and completely vacate any midfield presence or control. Bosz's system would work decently well with a mediocre midtable team like Augsburg, however it completely negates and wastes our technically skilled players.

I fully expect us to concede top spot by the next match day.

PB 1: cool, collected, calm and absolutely clueless.

Bürki 4: better but that's not saying much

Bartra 4: perpetually playing superman.... miserably

    DAZ 6: Decent cameo

Subotic 7: decent performance considering I'd forgotten he could still play

    Toljan 3: he's regressing steadily

Castro 3: invisible as usual and just as useless

Götze 5: tried but not much else. Did get an assist though.

Sahin: got a goal but extremely static

Phillip 8: got a goal and showed some fight

PEA 2: missed sitters again. Seems like the new normal.

Pulisic: lots of dangling but no end result

    Weigl 4: Hes regressing too

Kagawa 6: he can only do so much with so little

We need a new coach. The players aren't developing. The best players are regressing. His team selection is awful. Tactics are outdated and ill fitting. Even sitting in the basement 3 years ago I got to see the players actually try once in awhile. That's missing here.

Bartra and our defenders will always be hung out to dry and need to play superman in this system (especially with someone as slow as Sahin playing in that CDM role).

I thought both Burki and Gotze had good matches alongside Philipp.

The problem I see right now has less to do with the players themselves, and more to do with the system.
