According to internal staff this was Bosz last match. I feel awfully sorry for whoever comes next because they've been setup for failure.
Who is even available? Keller was recently fired (solid but hasn't shown it for a top club). There were rumours about Stöger before we got Bosz and before Köln's horror season. We surely wouldn't want someone like van Gaal ("Didn't you see the beautiful positioning game?"). And we are definately not getting one of the good coaches that are currently employed by a top club or any employed coach at all.
Tuchel is still unemployed, though. We should crawl back but I doubt he'd have any intention to take over now.
The only mildly amusing part is how stupid this is making the club's management look. Surely everyone in football can now see crystal clear just how incompetent certain individuals in the club's heirachy are.
Board ought to fire Watzke and have his replacement crawl back to Thomas Tuchel and bring him back. IMO he's an elite coach and is smart enough to improve on his personal traits. Barcelona etc. have all stood by Guardiola. Atletico always backs Cholo. Juventus pay out of their asses to keep Allegri happy. Frankly, I would gladly give an intelligent and unknown coach a try. If need be then toss the likes of Schmelzer and Sahin out of the club. The are leeches.
Team Reps just arrived at the BVB HQ. Big meeting going on. Something that should have happened 6 weeks ago. Gut was los noch an der #BVB-Geschäftsstelle, vorhin ist der Mannschaftsrat angekommen. Quite low. I know that Sahin, Piszczek and Reus were involved in that crisis meeting but have no idea who else. The board is also afraid that any change could have the opposite effect. Decisions at this club are based on fear rather than ambition.
They have to be smart...Players could be considering jumping ship and the ones you are worried about are probably going to leave now.
More. "For weeks, I've been saying that we no longer just want to talk, but finally let action follow," Schmelzer emphasized, "and now this! Madness. I do not understand how such a feat can happen in such a game. That was really sh*t."
