Peterson hasn't spoken a word of truth during his lifetime. He's a swindler who was part of the unpaid player and supplier fiasco that was the UFL.

You can't escape from the truth. A lie will be at least true to the fact that is a lie. Here, however, Peterson's curveball did not bend as I believe he would like it to bend. One does not need much effort to realize he said two things clearly enough: Virginia was a mistake; and the team there is good as gone.

By the way, Loudoun Hounds, the baseball team who would share the stadium, has the same issues: http://loudounhounds.com/

Well, that's more honesty than I have seen from MLS much of the time.

Oh, and Virginia Cavalry dot com says that the website is coming soon?
    http://www.virginiacavalry.com/

Is this signs of life? ... Or has a porn site bought the domain? (Perhaps thinking they could extort money from NASL?)

And OKC have announced a stadium deal, so clearly, they are farther along than Virginia, who are likely dead. (Where's Miracle Max when you need him?!)

Signs of life? More likely of death. Too bad, I still think that it would work.

Just to be clear, this word salad of vagueness:

    Is more honest than this:

    Okay, then.

I found funny that people opt time and time again for the lie [I do too!] when the truth would be a much better way to handle the particular issue they face. Because they lied, they need to keep lying, and things just get worse and worse. Lying should be a last resort measure. Credibility matters!

They went too fast. If they were handling this quietly, everything would look fine. Like: "well, the stadium construction is late, this Loudoun team will take more time to get started." They decided to give the team a name, colors, a schedule for the kickoff, and now, everything is known as a big failure. Nobody cares anymore. Momentum is completely lost. It would be better to make a Chivas out of it, for it to have any chance of success now.

Well, TBF.....how many people are actually listening?

    How many care?

NASL hardcores will remain such no matter what he says.

When you barely have an audience.....does it matter?

    Eh.

NASL fans are NASL fans. They aren't going to quit their team or league over something like this.

Who, that wasn't a fan already, is going to stop being one?

A casual viewing audience, that kind of cares, is the one that is going to be upset by stuff like this. These are viewers you could turn off and alienate.

It has just started to exist in MLS over the last few years.....does it even exist in NASL?

Is there a magic number for when it is said "they exist"? IS this like when a cult becomes a religion after their XXX member joins?

TBH, they announced the same stadium deal LAST year, supposedly to start THIS year. Now, THIS year they have announced the same stadium deal to start NEXT year.
I was the biggest cheerleader on this forum for OKCFC. I have lost faith in the whole thing. I'm tired

Well, the goal is to reach beyond your audience. It is to get new investors, partners, fans, etc. Credibility is part of the business.

Agreed.....my point is that they really don't have that audience yet.

Peterson can make this error and quite frankly....it won't matter. No one is listening.

Harsh, yes.....but a lot of truth to it.

It's no gonna matter all that much image wise.

Now, probably, but it could further. After all, to relegate those things, one is obliged to excel more in other points. You just give yourself more responsibilities and a smaller margin of error...

Let's just focus on the real issue; that this team was a joke from Day One, and that the NASL made a blunder in even considering giving them a team. If you want soccer to be a viable option, you have to place it in areas where you will have people that will actually care for the product instead of places where it'll be treated as a novelty.

On a similar topic, does anybody remember the Gulf Coast Swords fiasco? It was a hockey team that they wanted to put in Bradenton, Florida, and they promoted the hell out of that ECHL team... except for the fact that the arena had yet to be built. After three walls were erected, the group decided to back out and even sued the city for not giving them more money.

So, if there was anything built in Loudon Stadium, it'll probably have to be torn down anyway.

Well Virginia along with OKC have finally been removed from the league site. Looks like the league is finally ready to move on.

This really has frustrated me a lot. I used to have semi-regular communication with one of the principal owners. Then he went dark. havent heard a thing for a very long time. Very disappointing

Any of this make you at all interested in the Energy? Just curious, I know some of your reasons for backing the OKCFC group over the Energy, just didn't know if the darkness on the OKCFC front and the somewhat successful start of Energy FC (last year and heading into this year) made you reconsider.

Also ... what are your opinions of Energy FC as a skeptic (nicest thing I could come up with on your feelings towards them ... no offense). Take the ownership group out of it ... how have they marketed the team, built a roster, connected with fans in OKC, performed on the field, etc. What opinions do you have of them (outside of the ownership group which you obviously have a distaste for). Maybe this is the wrong forum ... so answer wherever!
