If he can't take the #1 spot in Denmark, he really wouldn't be if he was in Germany.

In even bottom tier leagues in Europe the one position they look to be consistent is keeper. Its why you see solid keepers throughout the world (not elite level, but solid). And Hamid's biggest problem has always been his consistency and his communication. Im not sure either of those change this late on, but its possible. I think its why he made the jump, he was in a holding pattern and can prove what he was is the best he can be(a good acrobatic keeper with bad moments) or if he can get better. The next 2 seasons will be huge for his career.

Strictly speaking for the US position I don't think he should be called in for a while. A lot more options who are currently playing and deserve a look before he should get a second look (unless he wins the starting job and shows he has improved).

So the prior two games doesn't count? Only the games that help the anti-Hamid narrative? No one has ever documented this lack of consistency, but if you say something enough, maybe it'll stick.

Its actually pretty funny the lengths some go to discredit Hamid. Why do some of you prefer your NT to be worse? There is no serious argument that doesn't have Hamid among our three best keepers, so if thats your position, its really to just help your lazy narrative.

I've posted ad nasuem about Hamid and his problems. Every third game or so he will make a blunder. It might not always result in a goal but he will.

His 1 v 1 technique is weird and his starfish is too low and allows players to go high on him (like number 2 in Ireland). His foot work is horrible. He has below average communication skills (look at his red card against Dallas when the defender had it covered, but he comes out and makes a horrible tackle and gets sent off. The goal against Columbus was almost as bad as Karius' to Benzema. His Orlando FC gaffe is highlight real blooper. And he is bad in the air. So lack of consistency.

His strengths are his athleticism and ability to stop shots others couldn't. But the trade off is he will give up a few bad moments. At the top level that's just not good enough to win the number 1.

He could battle as a number 3 but theres no real reason not to bring a young third keeper. He is definitely not in my top 5 but the gap between 3 and 7 is not great.

We obviously dont have the same opinion over Hamid and that's fine.
