You wouldn't be the first. Nor, I fear, the last...

(Although, if he keeps not playing maybe "Hamid: unfair to Midtyjlland" would be more accurate.

    @Ceres,

any idea how good the current keeper is doing? It's been 2 months. So is it simply he's that good or the coach doesn't wanna change a winning side?

And the keeper at Frankfurt seems to be dominant no.1 so probably would have been the same for him had he gone to Bundesliga

the #1 of Frankfurt, Hradecky was always rumored to be leaving Frankfurt this Summer. Hamid didn't go to Frankfurt because he didn't want to be 2nd keeper. Which he ended up being at Midtjylland anyways.

now Frankfurt have bought Danish club's Brondy keeper Frederik Ronnow for a 4 year contract. Even more indication that Hradecky is out this Summer. Also both Ronnow and Hradecky are ex Brondby keepers.

but now it seems like Hamid made the wrong choice, could have went to Frankfurt, be the 2nd keeper like he is in Denmark but have a chance to take the #1 next season.

If I were Sarachan, I wouldn't even call Hamid up for the next three national team games unless he gets some playing time.

Dude hasn't had a club match since mid-September. His only two games have been a half each in a pair of friendlies for the USMNT, the last in January.

    That doesn't earn a player a call-up.

The US has other GKs. Obviously there is Steffen and Bono's form has warranted a look. Sean Johnson is playing the best soccer of his career. And if we really want a foreign-based GK, call up William Yarbrough, who is a regular starter in Mexico.

In terms of talent and experience, I think Hamid is the best GK in the US pool right now. But if he ain't playing for his club, he shouldn't be playing for the US.

When Brøndby sold Hradecky to Frankfurt for around $3 million they, signed Rønnow as his replacement ... now Rønnow is once again the replacement for Hradecky, but this time at Frankfurt ... Brøndby recently refused an offer from Crystal Palace and are getting $3.5 million for Rønnow, which is a more than Frankfurt paid them for Hradecky, so I'm pretty sure Hamid did the right thing... Rønnow is as good as Hradecky ...

but the question, would Frankfurt have bought Ronnow, if Hamid joined them in Winter? Or is this more in retrospect that he did the right thing to not join Frankfurt since they bought Ronnow.

Hard to tell, but when Crystal Palace made their bid on Rønnow, in the very last hours of the transfer window, Brøndby made a last minute bid on FCM keeper Jesper Hansen, but they refused to sell him that late and to their main rivals for the Danish Championship ... but it could be that Brøndby now are going to make yet another bid on Hansen ... though it would be more :D if Brøndby now make a bid on Hamid as the replacement for Rønnow ...

    Right decision.

If he ain't getting PT in Denmark he's not likely to get it in BL1, is he?

he wouldn't get any playing time in 1BL this season but that doesn't include potentially getting some next season especially if the #1 leaves in the Summer.

as for the game Midtjylland win 2-1 in ET to advance for the SF.

I wonder if $$$ made a difference for Hamid. And were Frankfurt still in the German cup around the time of Hamid being interested. I'm sure he'd probably thought at worst, he might get a few games toward the end of the season had he decided on Frankfurt.

Such a tough break he got.

Hopefully FCM can win the league and that way Hamid at least has a trophy and might get some CL football this Fall.

I guess we'll find out. Now 2-3 in the 85th minute. Don't know if the score reflects poorly on GK (Hansen), or defense. I'm just following on ESPNFC Matchtracker.

Edit: Full time: Midtjylland 2-3 Brøndby
