Maybe he picked a couple guys who he thought grasped his system well and could help others pick it up? I honestly don’t mind inviting BPL players to meaningless friendlies. The First Nations League games is when I expect him to call up the strongest squad we have.
So far: Elvis Saric Goran Zakaric Smail Prevljak Ervin Zukanovic Ibrahim Sehic I don't mind calling up BPL players, the only, do they add value now or potentially in the future? Those two don't imo, just fillers.
Vinko Martinovic (U-21 Coach) has asked Robert to not call up the U-21 players as they have qualifiers the same time as the friendlies. So Menalo will be called up, but for the U-21 Team.
Menalo is injured, so he might not even get called for the u21 match. Kolasinac picked up an injury today against Milan, had to be subbed off.
Squad looks fresh. Begovic requested to stay out of this one after having issues with his knee. Weird still seeing Medo with us. Thought playing in the US would mean the end of NT call-ups... My wish: Sehic - Vranjes - Memisevic - Simunovic - Kolasinac - Cimirot - Besic - Milosevic/Zakaric - Pjanic - Duljevic - Dzeko (4-2-3-1). I'm fully aware that Visca, Sunjic and Zukanovic will 100% play from the start, though.
Robi did also mention the fact that he didn't call anybody from Dinamo for these friendlies, saying one is going to the U21 gathering (Gojak) while those two others didn't play enough recently to warrant a call-up (Hodzic & Hajrovic). Love this.
Anyone know why he didn't call up Todorovic? So young and he was solid at RB, a position we have no natural players in. Tired of seeing Vranjes/Bicakcic played there. Vranjes has been in great form of late, but as a CB...
Our U21-team have two qualifiers to play (vs Wales & Lichtenstein) so he will be needed there instead. Bummer, I know.
Bulgarian Squad Plamen Iliev (Astra, Rumunija), Božidar Mitrev (Levski) Vasil Božinkov (Slovan Bratislava, Slovačka), Strahil Popov (Kasampasha, Turska), Peter Zanev (Amkar Perm, Rusija), Kamen Hadžiev (Beroe), Božidar Čorbadžhijski (CSKA Sofija), Nikolaj Bodurov (CSKA Sofija), Cvetomir Panov (Ludogorets), Simeon Slavčev (Gdanjsk, Poljska) Georgi Kostadinov (Maccabi Haifa, Izrael), Ivajlo Čočev (Palermo, Italija), Stanislav Manolev (CSKA Sofija), Martin Rainov (Beroe), Mihail Aleksandrov (Arsenal Tula, Rusija), Todor Nedelev (Botev Sofija), Kiril Despodov (CSKA Sofija), Radoslav Kirilov (Pirin Blagoevgrad), Ivan Minčev (Slavija), Ivelin Popov (Rubin Kazan, Rusija), Georgi Milanov (CSKA Moskva, Rusija), Spas Delev (Pogon, Poljska) i Andrej Galabinov (Genoa, Italija)
Thanks Sudzuka for clarifying, even though I feel like someone asks you this every time someone makes a switch haha
Did see someone on Twitter mention that maybe our incompetent Savez never filled his switch, he found out and now refuses to play. Heck, you never know with the dinosaurs running nfsbih
