Oh no mate I'm not headed anywhere. I know it's not a big deal, but I thought I'd take the high road anyway. In any event, I'm definitely going to enjoy the challenge going against you this weekend. I do think, really, had you joined at the start (and also not picked Lens as they were slumping even then) and had others been a bit more diligent, we'd have a 7 team deep title race.

It won't be a problem for me if you win the championship.

And "tant que j'y suis", many thanks for having organized all the season.

Allow me to be the first to congratulate Douai on once again being crowned champion! Appropriate, no, that even though I am not an OL fan, they have certainly have quality, as does our champion in this contest. Douai was, as we all expected, extremely consistent this season, showing professionalism depuis la 1ère journée, and that is quite often the crowning achievement of a champion.

I would also like, without appearing condescending, to thank all of you for what I thought was a very fun year for me on this forum and in this fantasy league. I know I wasn't always that prompt in my own responses nor was I always concise in my other posts here, so I thank you for accepting me. This is a pretty good message board to be a member of, if I do say so myself.

In any event, here are the final updated results and standings. Congratulations to Chims who was the leading goalscorer as well as compiling the best goal difference, both of which are very impressive feats.

Happy to hear it, fraser, but I hope you'll join at the beginning since in case you have not realized it yet, you've beaten the 2 best teams (in terms of points) in the past 2 matchdays!

In any event, I think we all deserve a round of applause as all the human teams that were diligent did well, and there was very little in the end to separate everybody. The lone exception would be Pierre-Henri, but he selected quite an unfortunate team which would, in the actual L1, go on to lose a horrible string of consecutive games. I mean, in this league, his team allowed as many goals as Metz, which were the cellar dwellers throughout!

Anyway, I shouldn't comment anymore, except everyone, have a nice summer.

I was running on faith, and played a Strasbourg win every week. I realize now that it wasn't the best of all strategies :( .

Congratulations to Douai. Go dogues !

After the performance of Strasbourg this season, I'm ready for everything : Berezina FC, Racing Trafalgar, Olympique Waterloo...

I'll take a while before thinking about it. I don't know if I'll still be in Alsace next season.

i've been doing a comp on BBC's h2g2 that seems to be losing steam after many years (as h2g2 is generally) so next season i'd rather take part here. as Allez Lyonnais will likely remain at the helm of OL, i'll take grenoble if no one else has a more logical claim.

Looking at some of the vacant teams, I'm tempted to choose between Sochaux and Lorient. I don't know too much about Lorient and don't see much discussion about them on BigSoccer. Any info for a novice?

    Hey there, welcome. :)

Also, a shout goes out to our excellent moderator guignol, who appears will be joining us in the coming season, it definitely should be fun!

As to the Lorient question, one could say they've overachieved in that they've managed to avoid the drop to the second division. They had a very stingy defense led by their goalkeeper, Fabien Audard, who had a brilliant season. They are a "small market" team definitely, but have been known to have very good fans.
