Celtic extended their lead a top the SPL by 25 points tonight after only 23 rounds have been played.

When was the last time a team won a league by more points than the number of games in a league season?

This one may well be the record:

    Egyptian Premier League 2004-05:
31 points after 26 games = 1.192 points per game:
    Al-Ahly (74) vs ENPPI (43 points)

The following maybe the record by Absolute Points:

Scottish League One (3rd Division) 2013-14:

Rangers finished a whopping 39(!!) points ahead of 2nd-placed Dunfermline, for 1.083 points per game. ;)
