the city where i live is working up to it little by little: every time something's redone the opportunity is taken to squeeze a little more room for bike paths, bus lanes... the city of villeurbanne has found a great way to wean people away from the center: first they closed it down to cars for a festival in summer, then a christmas fair, then a history exhibit... so motorists found, and now favor, other itineraries. nowadays any excuse is good, every month there's something. the last event was a vintage bicycle show!
